Ghetto Kids Uganda
Yesterday I invited the leadership of @ghettokidstfug for a 2hr very deep conversation.
These guys are amazing, it was out of reflection last week while in my room in Madrid.
@ghettokidstfug have a massive social media following from across the globe which can be used for massive opportunities for Uganda.
They have 8.8m followers on Instagram, 12.8m followers on tiktok , 7.3m on Facebook , 2.1m on YouTube, 1.4m on threads and 24k X.
We have agreed to work on something soon and can’t wait seeing we can push uganda across the world, something close to my heart.
Just having a conversation with these younger guys , there is so much to learn from them. The young man in the picture taught me how positioning of ideas on social media works.
I need to learn from him even more now even when am a BBC( born before computers)

True story
I still remember the days after I quit my job sitting alone in my small single room in Kireka, rent at 150k. No bed. Just the floor. I think I even still have a photo of that room in 2023. Looking back now, it makes me smile.
To the young people out there: self-employment is not easy. Sometimes we make decisions believing it’s the right time, only to realize later how hard the journey truly is.
There were days I was overly aggressive with life, days I slept on an empty stomach. Other days it was just noodles because I was never a kikomando fan. Through it all, my prayer was simple: that God would one day connect me to people who shared the same vision and dreams.
Things didn’t change overnight. It took months of consistency, patience, and determination. Even when some money came in, I chose small investments and basic household items, but I stayed in that small room happily watching my business take shape.
Around that time, there were many debates about how much rent one should pay based on their income. From different testimonies, I learned discipline. I chose to start construction while still living in my 150k room.
Only recently did I feel ready to move into a more modern home. And of course, with an engagement coming next year, my future wife will need a bigger space 😂 that’s part of why I’m working even harder now.
I’m grateful to have met @WasswaEmma_ , a great businessman and our mentor @wekesa_amos . With madman we share ideas, challenge each other, and look forward to building bigger and greater visions together.
With a few assets I own in Kampala and my home area currently am happy and I trust a lot in my small progress
The journey is real. The lessons are priceless. And the grind is worth it.

Uganda
To me Uganda is very personal not political parties or individuals but Uganda.
I had a chance as a tour guide to travel around uganda as a young man, I tracked, climbed mountains , visited many islands etc.
I then started being a tour guide around east Africa, I saw, tested , experienced Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda as my second stage.
I didn’t know God was preparing me for a bigger goal in life. I say God because it was time of rebels around the country. Came near death many times. I earned close to nothing.
Doing Tanzania , Kenya and Rwanda made me appreciate it uganda more, I saw clients reactions because I took them around these countries.
Then I started traveling around other African countries and wasn’t any different , basic things like food and weather, uganda was so superior.
Then 2002, because of my knowledge I was asked to represent Uganda in the US at the corporate council of Africa, I was 29 and that marked the real start.
I board planes close to 15 times a year going to different counties around the world, I always look forward to coming home. Yes weather and food being the 2 most important aspects.
Been to every continent, toured most of the popular places in the world, slept cheap, slept expensive, eaten cheap, eaten expensive. I know someone in over 80% of the countries around the world.
Any argument about Uganda and its potential, I will fight and fight hard. I know its potential, I know its problems but I have chosen to make a difference in my life time which I thank God for.
I won’t argue with you if speak politics, I will take you on when it comes to uganda and its potential and it doesn’t matter who you are. It’s personal for me.
Uganda has given a chance in life, knowing it has opened doors people would love to walk through. From abject poverty to a Children’s home, to a cleaner , an office messenger, to a tour guide to businesses.
Uganda is personal, I will engage you, I will block u for Uganda, mazima!

Saddened by the death of 16-year-old student Joshua Leon Otim, who has today succumbed to the extensive injuries he sustained last Saturday when police and military officers aided by gangs in plain clothes holding machetes and sticks attacked and flogged us and our supporters as we attempted to campaign in Gulu city.
Otim's death underscores the ongoing complicity of the Electoral Commission and all other State institutions mandated to ensure a credible, free and fair electoral process. We extend our sincere sympathies to his family and friends, and demand prompt justice against all those responsible for his death. #FreeUganda
