Just an observation from years of coding pure JavaScript: The developers who jump to TypeScript the fastest are usually the ones who don't understand JavaScript properly in the first place. If you need TypeScript to write safe code it means you haven't mastered the language you're using. Fix that first.

@sakagramming Typescript catches silent failures JavaScript ignores and eventually breaks the app, most times it gets ignored if not properly tested and breaks the app In prod. A good example is how JavaScript handles "undefined" especially with objects.

@sakagramming The truth is, you'll never see the issues in JS until you start writing typescript, so typescript actually reveals most of the issues, and you start appreciating and seeing better ways to do things.
