@TSNCurling Yes, Vic has been the voice of curling. I'm going to miss Vic, it was a great run while it lasted. Very difficult spot to replace, off the top of my head i'm thinking @darren_moulding.
The ‘Voice of Curling’ is calling it a career.
Vic Rauter’s remarkable 40-year curling broadcast career will come to a close this weekend following the World Men’s Curling Championship.

Yes, eventually the government breaks its promises and abandons gold standard or similar schemes.
But even under fiat money, do you think that there could be demand for assets like gold and bitcoin as alternatives, that can't be inflated easily, demonetized, confiscated (like fiat in bank accounts) etc.?
@PolitBirojs@fiat_money@Polymarket Every major attempt to run a gold‑standard monetary system has eventually failed.
You sound like you are for no government and “sound money”. I don’t believe that will work.
@JoshuaLevy13@fiat_money@Polymarket Do you think that there could be demand for assets like gold and bitcoin as alternatives, that can't be inflated easily, demonetized, confiscated (like fiat in bank accounts) etc.? 🤔
@PolitBirojs@fiat_money@Polymarket Yes, it is. This currency is no longer in use because the Nazis lost power. The power to impose tax liabilities and fines in their otherwise worthless script. Currency is a tool used by goverment, it's neither good or bad on it's own.
What is so frightening about a path to getting our country out of debt. It’s a balanced budget! Stop this country spending more than it has. Neither party shows any leadership or vision or courage to make the dollar the standard and showing fiscal leadership.
@JoshuaLevy13@Polymarket They mean it as an insult, yet you can impose the currency on the economy this way. Dollars are worthless on their own, but a tax obligation gives them value
@arttavana@TMZ This is self destructive behaviour, they do things that make it impossible for anyone to show them any empathy. If you ever find yourself in a hole, the first thing you need to do is stop digging.
@TMZ People have so much empathy when female stars spiral (e.g., Britney) or have their breakdowns in public, but because male stars often spiral with fits of violence and masochism, we show them almost no mercy.
@CurlingInside@Kmartcurl@Junglejerome@worldcurling I would add a new rule: accidental non-influential contact on delivery. If it was non-influential contact from the player delivering the stone, no penalty. This goes along with video replay. The point of rules is to maintain integrety of play, not to nitpick technicalities.
@TSNCurling@TeamBradJacobs@BryanMudryk The video replay shows a hog line violation. There is no advantage to doing it. Within the spirit of fair play Marc did nothing wrong. The thing is where do you draw the line, we draw the line at the hog line.
Canada's @TeamBradJacobs were embroiled in controversy on Friday when Sweden accused the Canadians of rule violations, sparking a heated confrontation between Marc Kennedy and Oskar Eriksson.
@BryanMudryk breaks it down.

Prince William has form!!
Had a great morning with the Prince and Princess of Wales visiting Stirling's National Curling Academy ahead of Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
@BlendrNews The provincial debt is a huge road block to seperating from Canada. $85.2 billion roughly 17.5 thousand per albertan. A massive debt in foreign currency, and no BoC to back them up. This is the Canada trap, the FED govt doesn't spend enough forcing provinces into debt in CAD.
Alberta separatist sentiment is now getting blamed on angry white men.
As well as “a very small group of angry militant men, armed to their teeth.”
The irony is this kind of condescension from political elites is what's driving separatism in the first place.
@TheGriftReport The digital id is inevitable, your biometrics will be used in near future to create an id, it's not something that can be prevented. If not the government it will come from the private sector.
@InsikWeb3@elonmusk If the movie theater can print tickets? Why do I have to pay for a movie ticket?
Taxes anchor demand for currency that is issued by the state. Without taxation there is no demand. Fiat currency is a coercive system.
