There was no way to know that 30" of rain would fall and the bridges and roads would collapse. The news predicted 7" of rain. I think you should be pointing fingers at the news, not the people.

I feel like there was so much warning for #Helene. Speaking on the flooding side, @NWSGSP did such a great job explaining ahead of time how catastrophic this would be. I understand the discussion & frustration on the further East track (mainly speaking Inland, not landfall) but there was so much discussion ahead of time on how this system would be different than your average Hurricane as far as inland impacts. Praying hard for everyone out there!

This is a list of people that live near Mt. Mitchell Golf Club that are ok. Someone went around to the houses and wrote the names down and hiked to the Blue Ridge Pkwy to get a signal and sent them out so families would know. #MtMitchell #NorthCarolina #HurricaneHelene

This is Bolens Creek Road in Yancey County. It’s not even by the river and the road is gone. From this point it’s still 10 miles to my place along the river.

To all the people saying it isn't true. From 2019 to 2022, the rate of maternal mortality cases in Texas rose by 56%, compared with just 11% nationwide. I have a question for Republicans who support abortion bans, If your sister, daughter, or wife had a miscarriage in say, Texas or Georgia, and she needed an emergency D&C, would you want her to have to wait until she was dying of sepsis before she could receive care?
