Very sad to learn that Greg Quicke ‘Space Gandalf’ has died. If you’re in the U.K. you’ll remember him from Stargazing Live. I love what he wrote on seeing the solar eclipse in 2023. Papua New Guinea now says that 2,000 people were "buried alive" in Friday's landslide in Engas province. It has made the estimate in a letter to the @UN seen by the BBC. Earlier estimates put the death toll at around 670.
