Very interesting & informative as you say a lot of hard, demanding, emotional & traumatic work that unfortunately officers & partners have to do more than they would like. We need to continue to focus on the fatal 4 to prevent road traffic collisions & killed & seriously injured

Putting victims needs first! This centre provides traumatised victims of rape & sexual assault with the full range of services to support them from the moment they walk through the door. The inspirational @VeraBaird did not pull any punches as she opened the SARC earlier today.

This morning the PCC was joined by the Chief Constable and other local partners for the official opening of a Sexual Assault Referral Centre in County Durham. The facility has been developed as a safe place for survivors of rape and sexual assault to seek advice and support.

Future of sustainable highways vehicles looks very impressive - I’d love to have an opportunity to meet highway officers and see new fleet cars when they are operational in Durham and talk about delivering safer roads.

Hi, yes Highways England are adding 72 of these to our Traffic Officer fleet as well as 82 other models for our road inspectors etc. 9 of them are coming to Yorkshire and the North East region, though I'm not certain of how many will be on your patch.

3 yrs ago before a @UKParliament select committee with @UK_AHA & @PHE_uk arguing the case for #MUP what’s changed? @GOVUK have not produced an alcohol strategy & continue to ignore the evidence base for #MUP a tool that will save lives & reduce admissions to hosp. @BalanceNE

Really enjoyed meeting these unsung & unseen hero’s & hearing about challenging & often stressful situations they have to deal with on a regular basis. Learnt so much this evening about the high volume of number of non crime calls they take that puts pressures on the 101 service.

PCC Joy Allen’s police and crime survey revealed 68% of respondents did not think it was easy to report a crime. In the first of a number of visits she spent time this evening observing the control room and speaking to staff about the demands the service faces on a daily basis.
