Could a Japanese person explain to me why the comsumption of any fish/marine animal is so normalized in Japan without regard for their global conservation status? I ask this because this isn't the first time that I bump into a post like this and I need answers.

Jill and I are relieved, alongside millions of others around the world, that Sagui Dekel-Chen is finally reunited with his family after 498 painful days. Not sure why my post is being liked or being replied to, negatively or positively. Conservatives will like the 1st paragraph and 1/2 if the 2nd half of 2nd paragraph and may hate “catch up” phrase which I actually mean “till conservatives can tolerate or accept “. Liberals should like most of it because the I said “he thinks”. I think most hate is coming from right not sure why they think I am liberal, when I am addressing liberals as “they”.
