Steam Controller will apparently cost $99, price mentioned in a review that accidentally went up early. Release/orders may be imminent.
"Also at 99 dollars, it's not cheap, but it's only 25 dollars more than a PS5 controller."

@lUnfairl Steam Input DOES NOT WORK with any controller, and if it does, it's barely functional. Even the most recent games still have trouble recognizing Xbox/PS5 controllers. Oh and I know what I'm talking about, my Steam account probably has more value than your potato PC.

@pariz3r @mobpengwin @Wario64 Thank you, steam input is the one having trouble with compatibility and lack of customization, not the other way around, blaming brands and third party controllers bc of the incompetence of Steam is crazy.
English

@mobpengwin @Jstnova_ @Wario64 Steam input is a limitation. I use controllers to play games on my phone. I assume the steam controller won't work on my phone.
English

@_weed_eater_ @BonesJacks0n @Wario64 Trackpads, fancy rumble, and grip gyro were already present on products from the last 4-5 years. And tbh the mapping stuff It’s only via firmware like, literally just an update that could be available for any controller but Steam just gatekeeps it for only one product

English

@Jstnova_ @BonesJacks0n @Wario64 >it almost has the same or even better tech than the steam controller
Buddy; it has no trackpads, no fancy rumble, no grip-enabled gyro, no native gyro input(the gyro can only be used by mapping it to a stick), and extra buttons can only be used by mapping them as button combos.
English

@TheScreenTeam @Wario64 Nothing special to be honest, most of the features are via firmware which could be used and adapted to any controller at this point on the big 26 but sure lets keep glazing steam outdated products
English

@Enix98A @mobpengwin @Wario64 Don’t play dumb, I’m talking about magnetic/TMR joysticks, Hall effect triggers and mode switching be fr
English

@TheRealSteve738 @Wario64 You just making things up at this point lil bro 🙂↕️
English

@mobpengwin @Wario64 The same features that 8bitdo had for like the last 4 years with a decent price? You paying for old stuff and I thought PC master race hated to do that
English

@GreatIowa1 @synwithyn @Wario64 Depends on the game but you can use the 8bitdo app and map them from there if you having trouble with steam Input, honestly I haven’t encountered related issues yet.
English

@Jstnova_ @synwithyn @Wario64 Yeah, but are these extra buttons recognized by Steam Input as actual extra buttons with seperate bindings?
This is a legit question.
English

@Jstnova_ @Wario64 Then the ps5 pro and xbox pro 2 controllers? The xbox pro controller feels solid and has a lot of customization, also cost $200. Steam controllers will have the back button, TMR (Not hall effect, these are way better), the mouse pads. These gap the pro vs regular controllers.
English

@BonesJacks0n @Wario64 And somehow it almost has the same or even better tech than the steam controller.
English

@raul_000000 @Wario64 Lol next time check your chat gpt source bc ultimate 2 Wireless comes with a charging station/usb
English

@Jstnova_ @Wario64 No trackpads, no transmitter/charging station, worse rumble. Overall that’s an inferior controller, that’s why it’s cheaper, not saying it’s bad, 8BitDo is probably the best third party controller manufacturer, but you can’t compare it to something like the steam controller
English

@Kharnivore2099 @Wario64 Still not worth the price for 2 cm per side track pads
