Loved my time last week at our Amazon Robotics Innovation Hub (just outside of Boston) to see our ongoing inventions and progress. We opened this site a few years ago, both design and manufacture robots there, and consequently move from concept to scaled deployment relatively quickly. This team has created many of the most recent robots used in our operations, including Robin, a robotic arm that takes on the repetitive (and somewhat strenuous) tasks associated with sorting customer orders. Our Robotics team is inventing at a rapid clip, pioneering new ways to make work easier and safer for our employees around the world, building capabilities that will get items to our customers even more quickly and sustainably, and role-modeling Amazon’s Leadership Principle of Invent and Simplify. Was great to spend time with the team.
