Disguised federal agents told school staff they had parent's permission to take kids out of class—that was outright lie. "They quickly hid their IDs," when asked for details —arrived in unmarked cars & wore casual clothing—leading to confusion about who they actually were. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that the agents worked for them—but claimed they were not technically ICE agents. However, the federal agents said they were at the school to make a "welfare check" on students they claimed were "unaccompanied minors who crossed the border."
