The state pension is not a random government favour, it’s the back end of a 35–40 year compulsory “contract” where people are forced to hand over National Insurance on the clear promise of a basic pension at the end. Politicians and think tanks helped design an unfunded, pay‑as‑you‑go system where today’s workers pay today’s pensioners, then have the gall to call it “unsustainable” as if the public dreamt it up. If a private firm sold you a retirement product on fixed terms, took your money for four decades, then announced at 66 that you “didn’t really need it” and would henceforth be means‑tested or frozen, they would be in court for mis‑selling and fraud. The crisis here is not pensioners “leeching off the young”, it’s a political class that built a Ponzi‑style NI system, diverted the proceeds for other spending, and now wants to default on the people who kept their side of the bargain. You do not blame the victims of a defective product for believing the brochure; you go after the people who wrote it.

🚨 Major FT investigation out today: *Reform UK ran a council for a year. Things went badly * After winning Staffordshire County Council in May 2025 (49/62 seats), the reality has been chaotic. 🤯 Leadership meltdowns, racism scandals, soaring complaints & a tax rise instead of cuts. Think 🤔 before you vote before you drive Reform UK to run your council.

Previously 46 of 98 teams promoted to the Premier League went straight back down. Leeds and Sunderland staying up means for the first time since 2020 only 1 of the promoted sides are relegated. #LUFC #SAFC

Too on point not to share, “Aussie reply to Trump rant about NATO not being there for us. Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage. You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail. Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates. Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you. And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again. And you're calling Greenland poorly run? Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no. "NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years. And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess. So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your fucking mouth. Credit (borrowed from) Jim Scroggins - original author 📷 unknown”

Doesn't pay any tax in the UK because he ran away to the Tax Haven Singapore to escape the effects of the Brexit he helped create. Then he bought up hundred of millions of pounds of farmland to avoid tax, then cried when it was made taxable. James Dyson is a scumbag.

We’ve had previous Prime Ministers who’ve habitually lied to, laughed at & insulted us. They said of our grandparents “Covid was nature's way of dealing with old people", crashed our economy.. the list goes on. Finally we get a decent PM & the media turn into a pack of wolves🤦🏻‍♀️.

@htafc @sbk Hey Liam, y’ever thought about playing with 2 strikers up front ? Y’know, so we can play on the front foot rather than pissing about with it in our own half and making it easy for the opposition. Just a thought pal 🤷🏻‍♂️

Born January 19, 1949, in Batley, Yorkshire, England, he spent much of his childhood in Malta, where his father worked in British naval intelligence. Exposed to American jazz, blues, and R&B on the radio, he developed a deep love for music. He wasn’t a born, frontman type, shy as a kid, friends and family were surprised when he wanted to sing up front. Early on, he performed with local bands and gradually moved into professional work, from small groups to session singing, before being noticed by Island Records and launching a solo career. He had a secret passion for graphic design, art, and building model trucks, which many fans never knew about. During his career, he lived in New York City, the Bahamas, and Switzerland, never became a U.S. citizen, and stayed mostly private despite a glamorous public image. He won two Grammy Awards for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. His son even collaborated with him on his final album, showing that musical talent ran in the family. He was married twice and had two children. Despite iconic music videos and a polished style, he preferred a quiet life, enjoyed fine wine, and avoided the typical rock, n, roll party scene, though he was a heavy smoker. He died suddenly at 54 from a heart attack in Paris, leaving behind a legacy of unforgettable hits, innovative videos, and style that defined an era. Guess who this legendary British singer is!
