With just a few days to go until the close of Stormont’s consultation on its draft anti-poverty strategy, we’ve been to some women’s support groups in Belfast to find out what people think of it. They told us about the suffering & pressure being felt in communities🗣️

There is excessive time & energy spent by politicians & journos on stuff like this - while our lough dies, while education deprivation is the worst in the UK, while we wait almost 20yrs for an Anti-Poverty strategy & are expected to put up with a dud document.

Brilliant overview of what’s been happening in response to the draft anti-poverty strategy & the case we - & many in the sector have been making - about why it needs to be withdrawn & reimagined.

**Please share this video & toolkit** The Draft Anti-Poverty Strategy needs to be binned. It's more harmful to have a plan that does not address poverty than no plan at all. We do not say that lightly.

Famine has been confirmed in Gaza, with over half a million facing starvation, destitution and death. We have been warning about this impending tragedy for months. The UK can't say they didn't know this would happen. All available evidence indicates that the Government of Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war. Good to see the open letter calling for the Executive to withdraw support for anti-poverty strategy be raised with the Communities Minister at the Committee. Over 50 orgs from community & voluntary/ unions/ farming /faith sectors have signed this - it can't just be ignored!
