Tonight I had the privilege of hearing @MarthaByrne10, author of In the Interest of Justice, speak and her story is one I won’t forget anytime soon. Martha’s life was turned upside down when the FBI conducted a pre-dawn raid on her home and arrested her husband, former NYPD officer and private investigator Michael McMahon. Instead of staying silent, she began digging for answers and fighting to clear his name. What followed was a years-long battle that transformed her from actress and mother into an investigator, advocate, and relentless voice for justice. Listening to her tonight was incredibly powerful. Her message wasn’t just about one case, it was about courage, perseverance, and what happens when an ordinary person refuses to accept that the system is always right. Stories like hers remind us that justice doesn’t defend itself. It takes people willing to stand up, ask hard questions, and keep going even when the odds are stacked against them. If you want to understand her story, her book is here: amzn.to/4bc2Rj3 It’s a powerful reminder that sometimes the most important fights are the ones we never expected to have.

@brianstelter WaPo’s @crampell: Media focusing too much on the pricetag of Dems’ $3.5T bill: “The bill itself will not cost $3.5T in the sense it will be entirely, or at least partly, paid for. So the actual cost will be smaller than that, perhaps zero, although I think that’s unlikely"
