My take on the Hegseth-Pierre "controversy." First of all, who knows? So far, it's not an especially "well-sourced" story. Now, I have little doubt that some officials could have spoken bluntly, even rudely, to Cardinal Christophe Pierre, the former Vatican ambassador to the US, given the language that has come out of this administration and its response to Pope Leo XIV's repeated calls for peace. Did someone at the meeting mention, of all things, the Avignonese papacy? Who knows? It sounds like something that someone with a grudge against the church wished had been said to Cardinal Pierre. But I highly doubt that Cardinal Pierre, a smart man, a kind priest, and, above all, a consummate diplomat, will ever say anything about what was said on the record. Nor will the Holy See or the current nuncio. For good measure, having known a few Vatican ambassadors, or "nuncios," most would have just nodded, smiled politely and said, "Thank you very much. I will convey your concerns to the Holy Father." And remember: Vatican diplomats have been dealing with world leaders since at least the time of Charlemagne. Many in the diplomatic corps today have been posted to any number of countries and have dealt with officials from around the world. They're used to all sorts of rude comments and even veiled threats. So, given that we will probably never know what really happened, why not move on to more pressing matters: that is, Pope Leo's repeated calls for peace and reconciliation.

For us, as #Armenians, the phrase “#Never_Again” is not rhetorical - it is a principle shaped by history and sustained by responsibility. Having endured destruction and survived it, we carry a collective duty to speak out against the recurrence of such tragedies.
Impunity must never be normalized. #Genocide and #ethniccleansing must never be treated as acceptable or inevitable outcomes of conflict. Equally, hate speech - often the precursor to such crimes - must be confronted and rejected wherever it appears.
“Never Again” is not only about remembrance; it is about vigilance, accountability, and the unwavering commitment to prevent injustice in all its forms.

U.S.-South Korea Relations Are at Breaking Point:
“What good is the U.S. security guarantee against China when the United States cannot even handle a middle power such as Iran? What was the point of suffering through China’s economic retaliation to deploy THAAD in the name of upholding the U.S.-South Korea alliance when the United States makes a mockery of that suffering by unilaterally pulling THAAD to a different corner of the world? What good is a guarantor that asks you to spend your resources to cover the liability it created?”

'Total loss': Drone factory in Petah Tikva hit by Iranian missile
Aero Sol CEO Israel Vaserlauf says damage will not allow the factory to resume operations; The damage occurred just two days after Aero Sol was sold to Valorex for about 35 million shekels, but Vaserlauf remains optimistic about the future

An Iranian missile carrying a large warhead struck near the fence of the Aero Sol Aviation Solutions factory in Petah Tikva, destroying the facility. The company supplies pilot helmets, bomb components and drones to Israel’s defense industries and the IDF.
The impact on Thursday left a large crater, and the blast caused extensive damage to production machinery and offices. Earlier that same day, before the strike, the company had been featured in a report on our sister site, Ynet in Hebrew.
