A post like this one might come across as a lazy dad selfishly wishing for more sleep - and I get that. All parents know the struggle with sleep. But I wish it were just that. Most of my adult life I have struggled with depression and anxiety and in the last 12mo or so it has reached a pitch black status... Between struggles with burnout and to find a new job (marketing/advertising), my 3.5yr old son having some sort of unknown eating disorder, my baby girl having to fight for her life in the hospital in the first few months of her live and a revolving door of them getting sick over and over and over and over for a year straight, each time having to come home from daycare, getting us sick, making us stop our work (both self employed w no local fam).... it has become nearly unbearable for me and my wife. The chronic exhaustion I am talking about is not just "poor me i need sleep". I REALLY need sleep. I have been to the brink of the abyss a few times. Fortunately, I am still here today and I hope to be tomorrow too. I thank God for my family and love them so much. I cannot imagine my kids growing up without me. My dad was and still is a rock in my life and I really hope I can be that for my kids. I am so grateful for the real ones both IRL and on here that have gone out of their way to listen, support and talk me off the ledge when things have gotten bad. I cant trade from this place, its hard to care about charts or what Bitcoin is doing. It's just about getting through life everyday. Thanks to @letitgrow_eth @realfastdave @Debussy100 @21blacky @TheCryptoData @RRunner144 @Vshan_Crypto and many others who have supported me and put up with me over the last several months. It has made it all much more bearable and doable. I pray that one day I can bounce back from all of this and be myself again and help someone else out of it. I see glimpses of a joyful future when I'm at the playground with my son, or helping my daughter practice walking, or holding my beautiful wife. I never want to let any of that go or take it for granted. Not really sure why I am sharing this other than to say I am still here, I am grateful for the help of good friends and family and if anyone else is going through similar struggles hang in there today. Feel free to reach out if you need to talk with someone who understands. ✌️

If you don’t have kids yet & are thinking about it - just know that it’s been 3.5yrs since my son was born and I’m still chronically sleep deprived. It’s currently worse than ever. For weeks he has woken up screaming at least 3 times every night, then blasts into our room at the crack of dawn ready to go. We have a 1yr old girl too, so I don’t see it changing anytime soon. Hard to imagine several more years of this, to be honest. Absolutely brutal.

I have not taken a single dose of the Covid vaccine. I’m pregnant, and my midwife has recommended that I take the Covid vaccine now. Um, excuse me lady. I can’t take anything more than paracetamol, apparently I can’t eat tuna, sushi, raw eggs, unpasteurized dairy products, organ meat etc. But you are telling me to get a shot that has been linked to excess deaths, blood clots, and so on.
