It is deeply disappointing that H.R. 23 passed the House of Representatives, which would permit U.S. sanctions on staff of the ICC, an independent judicial institution dedicated to combating impunity for the gravest crimes known to humanity. The ICC is part of a global system of international justice of which the U.S. was a chief architect at Nuremberg and beyond. If the Senate follows suit, it will do grave harm to the interests of all victims globally and to the U.S. government’s ability to champion human rights and the cause of justice. cnn.com/2025/01/09/pol…

We also need courts - not just analysts - to come to legal determinations that the RSF is committing genocide. Trouble is the US is actively undermining the #ICC & will soon attempt to destroy it with sanctions, yet it's the only body able to prosecute genocide in #Sudan.

@HRL_YaleSPH reports that the RSF bombardment of #Zamzam outside #ElFasher in #Darfur is spurring a major exodus from the IDP camp, and that the RSF appears to be using Norinco AH4 howitzers- weapons apparently only known to be held by China & the UAE.
