My biggest failure since starting a reselling business was buying two pallets of furniture. What I learned: Buying 2 pallets with 2 couches doesn’t give you much room if one of them is damaged. Couches are heavy…I don’t have the muscles @MikeMcCabe1970 does. I didn’t have fun selling couches. I’d probably sell upholstered versus leather. I haven’t bought couches since although I have analyzed a few manifests. Loosing $200 on a pallet when trying a new category is tuition!

@JDPCollective Pro tip #1 for a rug order: buy a back brace! I’d recommend listing them individually but also do a big bulk listing letting people know you have a bunch so they can browse if they’re unsure.

Just won my first pallet off B-Stock. Costco rug pallet 44 units ~20.7% of MSRP A week ago I was still trying to figure out if I should even pull the trigger. Took some advice, did the research, and went for it. Now it’s time to see if I can actually move it. The reps begin.

Don’t deliver often, this was by far the most unusual. Federal workers met me in the parking lot, because I was not allowed in the building. It was quick and easy, and by the way if you offer FREE delivery in market place your pieces will move fast.

@FlippinwithJon @EverydayResell I need to find this balance, it sickens me to pay such high fees but obviously you gotta pay to play.

@EverydayResell So for me, high volume I can raise my price a little on the high volume ones and run a little higher rate like 15% if my margins are too good. But I also do this bc of volume not margins but I still average 20-30% net usually

On today’s episode of Facebook Marketplace in Rural America: New cooler listed for $40 She wants the lowest price. I offer to sell her a like new one for $35. She counters $30. Thanks, but firm at $35. She says she’ll take it. Asks for the address. I send it. She says, “It’s a bit far away I was wondering if instead you could drop it off.” Is every market like this? Or do I live in a special corner of the backwoods where a normal sale just isn’t a thing?

@hey_mindi I never see books in my area… although I’ve probably got 200 items to list as it is I don’t need any more inventory right now!

Last year I started reselling books on eBay. A couple hours a week. Sometimes zero hours a week. Out of my garage. My TOTAL investment on all the inventory to date? $124.89 The profit? $7,932.42. Could I scale and 20x that? Absolutely. But I am too busy slanging designer fashion on WhatNot where my margins are just as exciting.

Paid $100 dollars for this reversible chaise, excellent condition. No kids, no pets. No rips, no pilling. I did my courtesy vacuum and shampoo, starting to not mind paying for pieces, often less problem solving and less work. Listed for $380 Profit $280
