@waynenilsen For sure, getting that dialed in early
Trying to treat this like a real business from day one, not just flipping stuff and hoping for the best
English

@JDPCollective i hope you have some accounting going on, tax time is going to be fun
English

Delivery is officially scheduled for Tuesday!
Everything just got real, next step is seeing what actually shows up and what condition it’s in
I’ll break everything down once it arrives
Next goal: find a good vacuum and get the garage set up so I can process the rugs there, take pictures, then move inventory to the storage unit
T-6 days until delivery! 🚚

@MikeMcCabe1970 @hey_mindi Excited for you !! Keep us posted 🙌
English

Off to Seattle.
Bought a pallet of books for a grand total of $1.74 from Gov.deals
Channeling my inner @hey_mindi let’s see if I can make my money back 😂

English

@JohnTho64925859 Planning to start with local sales through FB Marketplace to avoid shipping costs, especially with the bigger rugs
Might test some on eBay or Whatnot for the smaller ones, still figuring out what moves best
English

@JDPCollective What channel are you planning to sell through?
English

Update on the Costco rug pallet 👇
Just paid for my first pallet, shipping and all.
All-in cost:
$925 (winning bid)
$27.75 (B-Stock fee)
$354.68 (shipping + liftgate + residential)
Total: $1,307.43
MSRP was ~$6,287
So I’m in at about 20.7% all-in
Shipping was definitely a big chunk, but I factored that in going into it.
Now it’s time to see how well I can actually move these.
I’ll keep sharing how it goes, good or bad.
Next big step: delivery day! 😳

English

@IronSovereign88 Yeah, sometimes they run promos for renting a one-way U-Haul. Check your local area I found mine on their website.
English

When I first began my reselling journey I started with 7 pallets of books and have been slowly working through them, learning what works and what doesn’t.
At the time I got my first storage unit for free with a U-Haul rental I got to pick up the books, so I made it work even though it was 30–40 minutes away.
Now that sales have been coming in, I was able to move into a unit right in front of my house. Cut my drive down to 5 minutes.
Still a lot left to list and sell, but this is going to make a big difference with the new pallet coming in.
Before → after
Slowly scaling. Momentum doesn’t stop unless you let it

English

@bstocksol Appreciate it! First pallet so we’re learning in real time on this one
Already learned a ton just getting to this point, excited to see what actually shows up and how the sell-through goes
I’ll make sure to tag you guys along the way, thanks for the support! 🙏🙌
English

@JDPCollective 🥳 Can't wait to see the results of this flip. Tag us along the way so we can celebrate your success!
English

@jearl02s This is amazing!! I hope to do those numbers one day.
What have you found to be the key to good Facebook listings ?
English

Selling on Facebook Marketplace can make you have more $$$ in your pocket:
I’m closing in on $30k in sales for the month of March on Facebook Marketplace.
Over $3,700 in sales on Facebook Marketplace on a Tuesday.
No boosting or ads.
Facebook marketplace has a semi negative perception….
Sellers complain that
folks flake a lot…
People haggle…
Lots of low ballers….
Weirdos and cereal killers will show up at your door…..
Lots of scams…
Buyers complain that sellers…
Don’t describe the item well
Have terrible photos
Bait and switch
Don’t respond quick enough
Want to much for an item…
Won’t deliver…
It’s a scam…
Mark Z. Laughs at both buyers and sellers because they drive a ton of monthly active users and generate revenue via ads/verification etc. he is also nice enough not to charge for local pickup.
Every marketplace has its pros and cons.
As a reseller you should understand d your marketplace and find the best opportunity for you.
There are techniques to minimize the seller complaints and win on Facebook Marketplace like me!
Please give me a follow @jearl02s to learn along the way as my wife and use reselling as a vehicle to contribute to our kids college, trade school or first business.
Link in the bio or DM if you want to discuss how I may be able to help accelerate your Facebook marketplace earnings.
Do you need to $$ to learn…
NOPE you can learn most by joining the reseller mastermind $5 a month and participating with others in the community.
However it takes time to do it yourself with community support
some folks like personalized support to start their journey and learning process faster.
For those wondering if there is any profit on 30k in sales….
Each week we balance cash on hand versus what we send to investment accounts…this week we sent $2,700

English

@jearl02s @MikeMcCabe1970 Thanks for sharing this, the hustle is always tough.
That last line about it being tuition is exactly how I’m looking at my first pallet right now 😳
English

My biggest failure since starting a reselling business was buying two pallets of furniture.
What I learned:
Buying 2 pallets with 2 couches doesn’t give you much room if one of them is damaged.
Couches are heavy…I don’t have the muscles @MikeMcCabe1970 does.
I didn’t have fun selling couches.
I’d probably sell upholstered versus leather.
I haven’t bought couches since although I have analyzed a few manifests.
Loosing $200 on a pallet when trying a new category is tuition!

English

@MikeMcCabe1970 That is awesome! Love seeing that early day hustle.
I’ve got some rugs in going to try to flip soon, is there a vacuum you recommend me to get ?
English

I made $600 during my dinner break last night.
Picked up and paid $100
Listed for $699 this afternoon.
Got to work with 10 messages.
Currently pending for $699.
$600 profit for under 24 hour flip.
Flips are not all this easy, this did come with some work, including performing a ladder stitch and several passes with the extractor.
Cleaned up nicely, someone will be getting a clean sectional for the fraction of the price new.

English

That’s actually really smart
I haven’t been using SKUs much yet but I can already see how that would make things way easier to track
The Google Sheets + invoice idea is solid too, I might try implementing something like that as I scale
I’ve also been thinking about getting a thermal printer to label my own SKUs for inventory, have you tried something like that?
English

@JDPCollective Well for eBay, they have custom sku option! Thay helps me alot and I find something key so they auction I go to, I use their numbers and just copy the last 4. But I also took a google sheet to import all the invoices using GPT so I can input them also
English

@ShannonJean Appreciate that, that means a lot coming from you 🙏
That’s exactly how I’m looking at this one, treating it as a learning experience and focusing on getting better with each deal
The problem solving piece is what I’m most excited about right now
English

@JDPCollective You will learn so much with this first deal.
Remember:
The better you are at problem solving, the more profits you will make.
The profits in reselling are in the average over time. Cheers!
English

@Agen7_Gaming Haven’t tried Amazon much yet
I want to get into it, just still learning the process and dealing with some of the ungating requirements
Right now I’ve mainly been focusing on eBay and FB Marketplace
English

@JDPCollective Have any luck selling books on amazon? I used to but it’s been 4 or 5 years.
English

@FlippinwithJon Appreciate that 🙏
That’s something I’m starting to realize too, things get messy quick without a system
What inventory system did you develop that made the biggest difference?
English

@JDPCollective Keep it up! Look forward to watching and following the progress💴for me the inventory system was a big game changer when I switched to a storage unit and more items!!
English

@WeedVet Yeah “used - good” is how Costco classifies returns/liquidation
From what I’ve seen it’s usually customer returns, overstock, or open box. Condition can vary so that’s part of the risk with these
We’ll see what actually shows up 👀
English

@Realjoehartman1 I’ve looked into wholesaling too, definitely interesting!
English

@JDPCollective With this kind of ambition, be the middleman find and flip houses to investors and make 10 X the money.
English

@BSmokey03 Did both
SomeFB Marketplace for local sales but mostly eBay for anything worth shipping. Still dialing in what works best depending on the item
Also found Facebook groups to be really helpful
English

@lgsguy From what I’ve seen it depends on the seller
This one was seller-arranged shipping, so I didn’t have the option, but I would love some local pickup for future orders to save on those costs!
English

@JDPCollective Do you have to have them shipped or can you pick up if you were local
English

@hottakefinance Appreciate that, the support means a lot 🙏
I’ll be documenting everything as I go, the good, the bad, and the surprises
English

@JDPCollective I’m all in! Can’t wait to follow your journey on this!
English

@alexendarah Not on this one, it was seller arranged shipping
But I do have a 16ft box truck with a liftgate, so I’m looking into pickup options for future orders to save on those costs
English

@JDPCollective Good luck !! Do you have the option to pick up instead of paying for delivery ?
English
