@JenOnTheMoveUK on the M25 video thumbnail you should put the smart motorway header (with the AMI 50) because most of it is smart. Same goes for the M1 J6A-10! So looking forward to seeing it, are the times of widening or smartification labeled for each stretch?

@ShowMeASignBryn I really like how the first generation AMIs were yellow text but then after that they were white. The legacy of yellow VSL numbers lives on in the MS4 though. Also what does NMP mean?

@ShowMeASignBryn What’s wrong with it? Though the TSRGD no longer allows it, I like gantries where the lane arrows are below the lane control signals.

@SimonWickers @A14C2H I know, it’s just I don’t see any cameras or “variable speed limit” signs on the slip roads.

@EpicChefUK @A14C2H If the speed shown is displayed inside a red circle, it’s mandatory.

@A14C2H So are the new variable speed limits mandatory and enforceable by variable cameras yet? I don't see any "camera reminder" signs on gantries like I do on smart motorways.

@A14C2H So 3 questions: 1) can the signals now display mandatory limits? Or only advisory? 2) at the moment VMS can only be displayed for motorways in the “reports” section of Traffic England. Will this be amended? 3) are the MS4s now showing STAY HOME ESSENTIAL TRAVEL ONLY?

@A14C2H bravo everyone! It’s been 4 long years and you’ve all been working so hard! The only question is when will the proposed ‘smart A-Road’ become smart? I.e. when will it get variable speed limits and stopped vehicle detection??

@LordTobySays I’d suggest quickly telling the necessary government parties to consider implementing cell broadcast public trials now, especially in high risk urban areas like Greater London, as the test messages can take the form of helpful coronavirus advice and reminders.

@cell_broadcast in high risk areas like London, wouldn’t it be good to propose now to install a test CB system using Emergency Alerts that remind about coronavirus guidelines? It will use real, helpful messages whilst also helping test the system.
