@sevnsevent @LNhistorian I prefer rezero, the glaze makes so much more sense when you watch it through the lens of a character study, primarily on Subaru. MT is great as well obviously, I just think what rezero did with Subaru's character is unlike anything I've seen in a show/novel, especially with arc6

As much as I praise Mushoku Tensei, I do think the gap between it and Re:Zero is large. Re:Zero stands clear of the rest of isekai in terms of writing… with the sole exception of Lord of Mysteries, of course.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood excels here too, with Edward Elric's journey through hubris and redemption feeling organic and relatable, supported by philosophical depth that makes his evolution more impactful than Subaru's forced resets. Another reason is side people in Re:Zero are simple types, like loyal girls, in a normal fantasy place with no deep bonds. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood builds a cool world with magic rules and characters who change and connect for real. Mushoku Tensei adds details to its world and people, making them more interesting than Re:Zero's plain ones. Re:Zero tries to be different with lots of fails but bores people who want fun wins. Mushoku Tensei mixes adventure and growth well and is fun to watch again. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood bends rules but keeps exciting action and heart.
