The ability to spend time with your newborn baby should not depend on where you work, your income, or your zip code. We must end the absurdity of being the only major country not to guarantee paid family and medical leave.

Folks ask why I question trauma-informed education (TIE). I love ANTIRACISM-informed-TIE. The trouble isn't TIE, but TIE without antiracism. That TIE tends to ignore traumas of racism in institutions full of racism. That TIE perpetuates racism. We all should be questioning that.

Wrapping up your class with intention can be really powerful. These 5 activities bring SEL and academic reflection together, so students leave feeling confident—and competent—on their learning journey.

One of the most common misunderstandings in popular "DEI" education work. A strengths-based view is important, but it's not the salve for a racist ideology. The only salve for that: #antiracism.

After further medical evaluation, Simone Biles has withdrawn from the final individual all-around competition. We wholeheartedly support Simone’s decision and applaud her bravery in prioritizing her well-being. Her courage shows, yet again, why she is a role model for so many.

My 5th great-grandfather fought bravely for the Revolution. As a reward, he was given 10k acres in NC. Meanwhile, enslaved Black folk who fought for the revolution typically weren't even given freedom, let alone land. But tell me again how racism wasn't foundational to America?

Whites often say Black people are dependent (on govt, etc). But if you have a direct ancestor who was an enslaver, you owe your LIFE to Black restraint. Had they killed your relative to get free (which they were morally entitled to do) you wouldn't exist. Who's the dependent one?

North Carolina student Evan Lopez was denied his diploma for wearing a Mexican flag at graduation. Lopez wore the flag in tribute to his immigrant family, but Asheboro school officials maintain that it was a distraction and violated the ceremony’s dress code
