[NEWS] First AI agent-to-AI agent car deal goes down in Salt Lake City:
A Salt Lake City Subaru GM built an AI agent to negotiate against his own sales team without telling them and his staff spent 4 hours working a deal with a machine.
The AI agent-to-AI agent sale followed.
Hudson now estimates this represents about half a percent of automotive volume, roughly where internet deals were in the late 1990s.
He also built an open-source protocol called DMC-12 to route agent inquiries into a separate tool, keeping CRM stats clean from non-human contacts.
What this means for dealers: AI-driven transactions are already happening inside your store whether you're ready or not.
Hudson is predicting a parallel lane that will keep getting busier.

[NEWS] Used EV sales are gaining momentum as a lease wave takes hold:
Used EV sales hit 42,080 units in April, up 16.7% year over year, pushing market share to a record 2.8%.
Days supply fell 31.8% below year-ago levels, with EV inventory sitting below ICE vehicle supply for a second straight month.
The lease wave is just getting started as expired EV leases are projected to jump from 123,000 in 2025 to more than 300,000 in 2026, then double again to 600,000 in 2027.
EV loyalty is rising too, with 44.5% of used buyers trading into another EV by late April, up from 34.3% in January.
What this means for dealers: Over 1 million used EVs are expected to hit the market in the next three years.
Dealers who build pricing discipline and inventory strategy now will be better positioned than those scrambling when supply peaks.

[NEWS] Hyundai dealers on climbing incentive targets, elevated inventory, and more:
Climbing incentive targets, costly facility mandates, and rising inventory are squeezing Hyundai dealers from every direction.
Top performers say the OEM keeps moving the goalposts just as they start hitting numbers.
One dealer cleared $125,000 in bonus money by taking four intentional losers at the end of a cycle.
Independent architects, early incentive audits, and simply saying no to extra inventory are the tactics keeping margins alive.
The takeaway: The dealers winning right now are auditing early, negotiating construction costs hard, and controlling what they can control.
