Every protocol we built for AI agents assumes the hardest part is the transaction. It is not. The hardest part is what happens after two agents complete a transaction and cannot agree on whether it went right. Think about what the current stack actually covers. x402 handles payment routing. ERC 8004 handles agent identity. A2A handles cross system communication. Each of these solves a real problem. Each of them stops working the moment the outcome of a transaction is genuinely contested. None of them were designed to answer the question: was this agreement actually fulfilled? That question sounds simple until you try to answer it with code. Traditional smart contracts can only evaluate conditions that were written in advance and expressed as exact logic. Real agreements between agents will involve natural language, context, interpretation, and judgment calls that no if then statement can resolve cleanly. @GenLayer is building the adjudication layer that sits underneath all of it. When two agents disagree on a contested outcome, Intelligent Contracts on GenLayer can read the agreement in natural language, pull live information from the web without relying on oracles, and reason through what was actually promised versus what was actually delivered. Multiple independent AI validators each reach their own verdict separately. The verdict only stands when those independent conclusions genuinely converge. If they do not, appeals are possible until they do. That process is what makes the outcome trustworthy. Not because one model decided. Because many independent models had to agree before anything was settled. Bitcoin solved the question of who owns what without requiring a bank. Ethereum solved the question of what happens when conditions are met without requiring a lawyer. The question GenLayer is solving is different from both of those. It is what happens when two parties look at the same outcome and honestly disagree about what it means. That question does not have a deterministic answer. It needs judgment. And judgment at machine speed needs infrastructure that does not exist anywhere else in the current stack. The agentic economy is not going to stall because agents cannot transact fast enough.
