Love this headline by Peter Hartcher. This budget will be attacked as a nightmare. That’s exactly what the PM wants “This budget is a Labor dream come true. I hope so too. But I highly doubt it. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Our issue is supply and demand. Supply side is constrained by layers upon layers of red tape. And taxes. And demand. We bring in people faster than we build dwellings. This is not a value judgement. Simple maths and economics 101. But we can all hope for a miracle.

I often talk about how my values align with Labor, but today's budget will define my next vote. My rent has gone up 723 dollars a month in just 6 years. My wage hasn't. I hope tonight's #Budget2026 brings relief for millions of Aussie renters like me.

Good question. Would not meet to tax so much if they stop wasting all our money and spending so much. Also please study the Laffer curve which shows tax revenue increases with less tax because companies and individuals are more motivated to work when they get to keep more of what they earn!!

If this is all about housing for young people then why are all our other assets being included such as shares , commercial property , industrial property what’s that got to do with housing ?
