@BackupHangman Here's the problem with your idea: in order to pass the torch, you have to have legitimately held that torch. Punk is not the torchbearer. He never was. He was the face of the rebellion. WWE's torchbearer is Roman Reigns. Ideally, Trick or Oba goes through Roman at WM 43.

I said it to @RichLatta32 but the thing is this isn't the same adversarial crowd that Punk spoke for in 2011. The average WWE crowd is full of more casual fans or avid viewers who like the product. Many of the smarks moved on, and he's referencing things these fans don't know.

Punk made his first WWE PPV appearance there and got the loudest pop that night. It was a home game, and he still lost.

@narcolepsyboy94 Except contrary to the narrative on commentary, Cody didn't lose the championship to Drew due to interference. Drew was nearly out the cage when Jacob pulled up, stared him down, and attacked him. Without that intervention, Drew would've been LONG GONE.

I don't think this is hard to put together 😭 Cody lost the title to Drew because of interference from someone else correct? Yes ok Drew said Cody can't get a rematch unless he finds another way. So Cody said he was gonna win the rumble. Drew prevented that from happening & he wasn't even in the match Drew then tried to prevent Cody from qualifying for the chamber that backfired. So then Cody has another chance to possibly earn an opportunity to get another shot at the title the chamber. But Drew got involved to prevent that from happening. Storyline - After Drew won the title he's been trying to do everything possible to avoid facing Cody again. He's tried costing him 3 different matches he wasn't even in 2 of them he was successful. He was warned to stay out of it but refused to listen. So know he's being punished by forcing doing the one thing he didn't wanna do & that's put the title on the line against Cody again because of his own actions.
