This stat is so misleading it hurts. You are comparing one week this year to the entire pre draft period last year? Of course there are more trades now, teams are racing to fix holes before the draft. By the time we get to April, the numbers will probably be the same. This is just a fake narrative to make it seem like the leauge is more chaotic when really its just the same old song and dance.

Since the 2026 new league year started last week, there have been 18 trades, including Andy Dalton today.
From the day the 2025 new league year started until the NFL Draft, there were 15 trades.
One week of the league year this year already has produced three more trades than there were over weeks last year.

Even considering this again is insane. We already saw how that played out in 2012—and it took one national TV disaster to fix it.
This isn’t just about missed calls….It impacts protections, tempo, communication… you’re not tweaking officiating, you’re changing the entire game.
