@PIH The answers have been there since Alma Ata; I understand the reluctance of @JustinD_902 et al to embrace yet another biomedical label, but perhaps #multimorbidity can bridge the gap between the demand to be able to measure 'something', and the holistic nature of UHC & 1' care

Really enjoyed grappling with this - so many resonances with experience of caring for patients in SA for whom systems wholly inadequate. Rather than dogmatic definitions, perhaps MM as a concept of when pts' capacity to cope with ill health is exceeded journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/26…

The typhoid conjugate vaccine was very effective in reducing typhoid but did not impact on antibiotic prescribing in Zimbabwe. We also need to expand diagnostics & healthcare access to reduce antimicrobial use. #ECCMID2023 @KatharinaKranz4 @rudo_chingono @JustinD_902 @TomDarton1

I've been studying #multimorbidity for about 7 years and this new paper by @JustinD_902 et al. has changed the way I think about it.
It provides a critical philosophical, historical and social context to multimorbidity in global health. I strongly recommend it!
