BREAKING: MAN IN HIS 30S HOSPITALISED AFTER MOTORBIKE CRASH IN RYDE - islandecho.co.uk/man-in-his-30s… #isleofwight #iwnews #iow #breakingnews
English

@Oscar8Perry That's right continue to play victim and blame everybody else but the club
English

Fuck the EFL, Fuck the FA, Fuck any opposition fan. Tonda at the wheel and Solak at the bank here we go #saintsfc
English

@RalphInUEFA @PatrickHazebro2 A points deduction for a play off competition not sure you understand how knock out competitions work. A fine is useless unless it was £200 million that southampton could of won. You was the first club to be found cheating since this rule was introduced they need to set a example
English

@PatrickHazebro2 @Justsam1989 The club were punished more than anyone ought to ever have been when they first appointed Nathan Jones as manager tbf.
On the real it should have been points deduction, massive fine and bans for staff who knowingly broke rules. Expulsion was way too much.
English

@charliewring1 If he really was the "dogs bollocks" why didn't he come out with this shit straight away or hand in his notice after costing his club potentially £200 million?
English

You know what, I don't care what anyone else says, this man is the dogs bollocks.
Un-scripted, truly personal heartfelt message, I am thoroughly impressed, he could have just hidden in the shadows, but no faces it head on, gives context to his decisions and truly apologises.
My Gaffer. #SaintsFC
Southampton FC@SouthamptonFC
A personal message from Head Coach, Tonda Eckert.
English

@JoshR1988 @colinwalker79 Because they were league games you idiot. The Middlesbrough one was a knock out game so the only credible option was to chuck you out.
English

@colinwalker79 We got docked 4 points for those, not kicked out of playoffs
English

Kicked out of playoffs for recording a few mins of Middlesborough training only learning that they would press & man mark Scienza.
What an absolute clusterfuck.
A potential premier league return & 250 million down the drain for absolutely nothing.
#Saintsfc
English

@dkaustin87 "Minor infringements" you really are absolutely deluded. Yeah our team cheated and I was deeply rooted and well planned out but let's just pretend it never happened.
English

Will everyone calm down, don’t join in the hysteria over some minor infringements and get behind the team now please? #WeMarchOn #saintsfc
English

@Justsam1989 @boroshaun1971 Punishment didn’t fit the crime 👍🏻
English

@kierannkater98 @boroshaun1971 So in your opinion a small fine is the right way to set a example. Clubs can look and think a £10 million fine is worth the £200 million+ we'll get next season.
English

@Justsam1989 @boroshaun1971 Well it will now because my opinion is my opinion and unfortunately it didn’t end up that well 😂👍🏻
English

@kierannkater98 @boroshaun1971 So if you had gone on to win the play offs you think a £10 million fine would be justified for a team about to make £200 million plus. That's like be getting a speeding ticket a being fined £5 it probably wouldn't stop me or someone else doing it again.
English

@Justsam1989 @boroshaun1971 For me a 5-10million pound fine and a suspended points deduction would’ve been fine, if like we did, get kicked out then I’d of just promoted hull as a team who lost in the semi finals shouldn’t of been in the final, that being said, the semi final shouldn’t of went ahead 👍🏻
English

@kierannkater98 @boroshaun1971 Given your current form it was a good chance. What do you think the punishment should of been? A slap in the wrist?
English

@Justsam1989 @boroshaun1971 Wasn’t guaranteed the 200 million
English

@FarrightRobb @alex_crook Stop playing the victim you cheating scummers.
English

@alex_crook Crook by name crook by nature & a skate at heart. Never will let an opportunity to kick the saints when theyre down pass you by would you crook.
Any chance you could spare us the moral grandstanding & take your faux outrage elsewhere??
English

Was flying when this came through but this is another example of #SaintsFC not reading the room. Find it incredible nobody at senior level has yet taken responsibility for the whole sorry mess.
Southampton FC@SouthamptonFC
Club statement: 1st June 2026
English

@kierannkater98 @boroshaun1971 Ahh the classic but what about Man city. Out of interest if you have a job and you make a decision that leads to costing your business £200 million would you be let off with no punishment?
English

@Justsam1989 @boroshaun1971 Pep guardolia isn’t a great manager then?
English

@LeeRoberts8976 @sparkythebabler Just out of interest what do you think a fair punishment should of been?
English

@sparkythebabler 2 weeks to late though we should of come out swinging the night before the hearing saying how on earth are we expected to get a fair hearing when you’ve got an ex boro player on the panel and Steve Gibson is clearly influencing the efl with his place on the board
English

Just me that’s happy the club didn’t apologise?
The whole process was flawed and the integrity of the panel was on the floor. Glad they’ve come out swinging. #saintsfc
English

@sparkythebabler @Covlad459811 Can you provide the evidence that other clubs have been doing this. End of the day your club cheated and got found out and rightly punished. It's not Middlesbrough, the press or the efls fault it's your clubs fault.
English

@Covlad459811 Because they can’t see the bigger picture. This ‘spying’ has been going on commonplace for some time. Just we were the ones who got caught. The punishment was draconian. It was a kangaroo court also.
English

@boroshaun1971 Yep and he’s already been punished enough, great manager even IF he does get a ban and will likely land a top job in Italy or Germany 👍🏻
English

@RalphInUEFA @GayoCaesar @ValleyFloydFred The only thing that was "breached" is the rule the you broke its simple as. It was a knockout competition so the only reasonable punishment was to chucked out of that competition.
English

@GayoCaesar @ValleyFloydFred I don’t see how that is relevant to my point? We are a shareholder with an agreement. If we feel the EFL breached it there are certainly avenues through which that could be pursued.
English

@DuncanHolley Scummers cheat and get found out but it's everyone else's fault.
English

Time for #saintsfc fans to take a breath, circle the wagons, hope many of last season’s players can be kept and then, with TE our manager on an improved contract, we rip up the Championship and shove two fingers up to the EFL and in particular Middlesbrough.
English

@BenGransden86 @LucyVHolland He literally pressured a young lad into braking the rules
English

@LucyVHolland I agree. Media frenzy whipped up by Boro has influenced it. I’m not mad at Tonda I just pray we can talk the players into staying and having 1 more year. Tonda can’t be a bad manager with that performance against Arsenal and city, which by the way there’s no chance of spying at.
English

I’d argue that diving for a penalty or tricking the ref, is far more impactful than watching a training session.
I’m not even angry at Tonda.I think the EFL have lapped up the exposure. Gamesmanship, yes but “Cheating” to me is still a stretch. Not buying into the hype. #saintsfc
English

@paulfra42730721 @DuncanHolley It doesn't matter where he grew up. He was working in the EFL the rules are very clear. Had the won the playoffs a fine and pounts deduction would of been totally pointless unless it was more the a £200 million fine.
English

@DuncanHolley Tonda has been brought up with these type of tactics in Germany, so has some excuse. If we’d been given a fine and a points deduction as we should have been then it’s business as usual. It’s because we have been kicked out of the final he’s getting so much stick.
English
