ElementaryMath CDL

The EMT visited the 4th graders at @DillardSt_OCPS to have a morning full of Math Olympics. Student teams solved Computation Comrades problems, did a Lego challenge, played Match Madness puzzles and used their computation skills for Krypto. Such a fun day!

Today, the EMT closed out our 4th grade Mission Math at @SouthwoodES, @Wheatley_OCPS, and @LockhartesO. We had the best day using our math skills to solve space problems and ensure the Artemis II crew made it safely back to Earth.

Day 7 of the Math Mission brought the EMT to @SadlerOCPS, @CadetNation, and @AlomaElem. We were met with smart and respectful kids, hardworking teachers, and lots of fun doing math!

Today, students from @MGES_OCPS and Lake Gem got to be part of Mission Math. Collaboration, math talk, and academic vocabulary…what a terrific Tuesday!

The EMT kicked off week 2 of math mission at @EaglesNest_OCPS , @SpringLake_OCPS and Sunshine Elementary. Students traveled through space exploring whole numbers, fractions, decimals & math vocab. Check out the AMAZING posters they made! They’ve learned so much this year!!

Day 4 of our space mission took the EMT to @Millennia_OCPS and @Lovell_Elem. The day brought student-designed anchor charts, number lines, fractions and decimals, lots of fun and even some sweet treats! What a space-tastic day!

Day 3 of 4th grade Math Mission brought the EMT to @McCoyElem_OCPS and @PHES_OCPS. We had a great time with our space missions, working with students on a variety of NSO benchmarks. We’ll be blasting off at two new schools tomorrow!

Day 2 of our journey through space on the Math Mission brought the EMT to @Metrowest_Ocps and @riversideocps. We had a blast doing math with some amazing 4th grade students and their teachers!

The Elementary Math Team had the best day kicking off Math Mission with the 4th graders at @Palmetto_OCPS. Thank you for having us and thank you for being amazing astronauts as we practiced some NSO benchmarks!

Our competing math team left it all on the table today at the District Math Olympics! Remember this team from January? They placed in the top 2 for our cadre and advanced to the district level competition. Students not only deepened their math skills in working with @BWorrell_ , but also learned how to be a good teammate and collaborator! Principals and cadre leaders from cadres 1, 4 and 10 collaborated on math tasks, talking about the student and teacher actions they hope to see as they visit classrooms this month.

What does your feedback feel like?

Several cadre 11 teachers collaborated on upcoming units, planning benchmark-aligned tier 1 instruction for their students.

We love seeing ways our teachers are supporting their English language learners in the classroom! These examples came from Millennia ES, Spring Lake ES and some of our wonderful math coaches at their October meeting.

Mr. Cubio at Lockhart Elementary uses a plethora of anchor charts with his students to teach different strategies and skills. So many helpful resources that his third graders can refer to when working independently!
