The use of force by one country against another is wrong, against the @UN Charter, and unacceptable. But it is not irreversible. I repeat my appeal to President Putin: Stop the military operation in Ukraine. Bring the troops back to Russia.

The decisions of the coming days will shape our world and directly affect the lives of millions upon millions of people - in Ukraine, in Russia, and beyond. It’s not too late to save this generation from the scourge of war. We need peace.

Under the present circumstances, I must change my appeal: President Putin, in the name of humanity, bring your troops back to Russia. This conflict must stop now.
