When I was an Anglican priest, I would meet Catholic priests who called me “Father” and said things like, “I’m praying for your priestly ministry.” This reinforced for me that I was approved by Catholic clergy and was therefore “valid”. The Anglicans interpret it as “full approval and 99% Full Communion.” Sometimes Protestants just need to be told “Let’s be one. True unity is in truth and communion.
