@TheCinesthetic Might be a block buster for streaming but if i saw this in theaters I would be disappointed. That being said everything made after 2010 is all B rated or below goy slop compared to what used to be produced in the 90's.

Tomorrow War (2021) is an example of a BLOCKBUSTER that should have been released in theaters, but was made directly for streaming platforms. High budget, excellent visuals, and a good sci-fi script with a fantastic result.

In the 3rd act, when the main character looks back, from the back of the open APC, and the gunner + the driver (who was memorable) alive a second ago, absolutely fucking black toast now, APC still rolling down hill. Absolutely gold. That set it apart for me.

I watched Netflix War Machine having no clue what the movie was about. All I knew was that Alan Ritchson was in it, so I gave it a shot. Little did I know the movie was actually about a giant war machine. 😅 First, I need to put this out there. When I saw the machine, all I could think about was Metal Gear. If there is ever a Metal Gear movie, I want it to be as terrifyingly beautiful as this thing here. Until we get a Metal Gear movie, I’m just going to say this was one. Now the movie itself, I enjoyed it a whole lot. I’ve seen people say many things about it, like it was pointless or too predictable. For me, it felt like those 90s action movie days like Predator, RoboCop, and Rambo, where you didn’t really have to think too much. You just sit back and enjoy the sparks flying. Yes, it did have its cons when it came to the other characters and their development. I honestly can’t remember most of them except for the one on the stretcher the whole movie. And the way they ended it kind of gives false hope once you’ve seen the third act. Is it the best sci-fi movie on Netflix? No. Is it an enjoyable one? I’d say hell yes.

The Matrix Resurrections (2021) works best when you see it as Lana Wachowski poking at her own creation. The film openly questions reboots, nostalgia, and corporate sequels, then proceeds to remix its own mythology on purpose.

There’s a hole in my heart where Succession used to be. I’m strongly debating diving into Industry. I haven’t made the jump yet. But every Sunday, I’m reminded of how much I miss having a show like Succession in my life. Not sure if I’ll rewatch this or The Sopranos. I miss it.

I think Tom Holland has something to prove in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. When you consider other actors of Holland’s generation like Austin Butler or Timothée Chalamet, it sort of feels like Holland has fallen a little behind. I’d love to see him thrive in a film like this.
