I bought one thing at an American pharmacy. Toothpaste.
The register began to print. It did not stop.
The paper came out, and kept coming out, and the woman working there did not look at it, because she has seen this before and has made her peace with it. It reached the counter. It reached the floor. She tore it off without looking, the way a mother catches a child she was not watching.
She handed it to me.
I held it in both hands. It was longer than my arm. It was longer than my leg. It was, in every way that matters, longer than the toothpaste.
I had been given a document.
In my land, a scroll of this length is a land grant. A genealogy. A confession made under oath. No nation prints a thing this long about toothpaste unless the toothpaste is part of something larger.
So I read it.
I read all of it, standing at the register, while a man behind me waited holding a bag of ice and said nothing, because he was also an American, and he knew.
There were coupons. There was a survey. There was an offer on a car battery. There was a coupon for the toothpaste I had just bought, which is a form of mockery so advanced that I could only admire it.
"You can throw that away," she said.
Throw it away. A document longer than a sword, printed with my name, the hour, and the four dollars I paid.
I could not. I still cannot.
It is in my drawer, folded, with my passport and my father's letters.
I have bought toothpaste four more times since. On purpose.
I tell myself I am keeping them for a reason.
I am not.

Black woman says America is not 250 years old
“How yall celebrating 250 years of establishment and its year 2026”
She explains this “Doesn’t make sense” because America is not 250 years old according to her
But here’s the thing, if you simply put 2026 (current year) into your calculator app, put (-1776) which is our founding, it equals 250
We need better education in America, something is very wrong
Here’s the breakdown of white vs black kids in school for math proficiency
Elementary School
- White students: ~45–50% at or above Proficient
- Black students: ~15–20% at or above Proficient
Middle School
- White students: ~35–40% at or above Proficient
- Black students: ~8–12% at or above Proficient
High School
- White students: ~25–30% at or above Proficient
- Black students: ~5–10% at or above Proficient

@shaunvlog_ @QbanRuby Water helps a lot but consider getting a Torras Ccolify ps2 pro or cyber fold... both are electronic ac u it's you put around your neck. They really work well... about$2 to $3 hundred dollars bit well worth it. I had heat exhaustion lat week and bought one... they're great.

@QbanRuby Thanks Emi, will put a focus on water and electrolytes

I genuinely need to be more careful in the coming days with water intake if I’m going to avoid heat stroke 🥵
Shaun 🏴🇺🇸@shaunvlog_
Today was a day - perhaps more than any day that I can remember - that I truly struggled with the heat. Plane tiredness + Florida high temps is a tough combo 🥵 g’night!
