It is appalling how little coverage the shootings at the CDC received. A government agency was attacked with over 180 rounds of gunfire and David Rose, a responding police officer, was killed in the line of duty.

Washington, DC is a beautiful city.
DC is home to 700K people and welcomes millions every year.
We have the #1 park system, fantastic public schools, and a tremendous public transportation system.
And we are at a 30-year low in violent crime.
It's important for all who live here and visit to know how beautiful our city is and how proud we are of all that we've accomplished.

The Administration’s actions are unprecedented, unnecessary, and unlawful.
There is no crime emergency in the District of Columbia. Violent crime in DC reached historic 30-year lows last year, and is down another 26% so far this year.
We are considering all of our options and will do what is necessary to protect the rights and safety of District residents.

The NWS for Baltimore/Washington did something extraordinary last evening that may have gone unnoticed. They issued a flash flood warning for an urban area (not a river warning) 30 mins BEFORE it even started raining! 👇 And they nailed it. The NWS has been taking a lot of flak lately, but they do great work! 👍
