The difference between Pep and Sir Alex is that Pep did not only transform football as a manager, he produced protégés that turned into men, to take over from where he stopped, if he ever stops. See him telling Arsenal to stick with Mikel Arteta 5 years ago. He gave Bayern Munich a go ahead to appoint Vincent Kompany after Uli Hoeneß called him. Maresca also interned with him, and has already won the championship, conference league and club World Cup. Arteta interned with him also and has won the premier league and FA Cup. Xavi & Xavi Alonso have both spoken of how much they learned while playing for Pep, both have league titles, the influence Pep has is crazy. Did you read recently where a League One coach was talking about how Pep has influenced them? I don’t think Sir Alex left such legacy or possess such influence. In fact, when talking about influence, Marcelo Bielsa will even be ahead of Sir Alex (read about his history and coaches he’s tutored, including pep himself). This is not in any way a disrespect to Sir Alex because I’m sure some folks will take this out of context. There are existing arguments on who the greatest manager is, and this is me setting Pep apart from the rest. He’s the GOAT.

Best centre back duo in the history of the Premier league. I don’t even know which one is better than the other one. Both top 5 Prem CBs of all time. The top 5 is now Rio Ferdinand, Sol Campbell, Van Dijk, Saliba and Gabriel. John Terry is gone, Vidic was never top 5. Fuck off

Roberto Carlos questions Carlo Ancelotti’s World Cup squad selection: "João Pedro can play as an attacking midfielder, left winger, and striker, so why leave out a versatile player like him and take an injury-prone Neymar, who has already lost some of his sharpness? Neymar has played in four World Cups and Brazil still failed to win it. What exactly will Martinelli offer that Vinícius Jr. cannot already provide on the counterattack? What was the real criteria behind this selection? It hurts to see players in great form ignored just because others have better national team stats. A tournament can change everything, and I honestly believe João Pedro and João Peixoto could offer more than Cunha, Martinelli, and Neymar."

The more you defend him and call him the best, the more embarrassing you look and sound… One of the greatest players but not close to being called the best. How can you lose a cup equivalent to Europa League of Asia to Gamba Osaka in a final you’re the favorite to win and still get 6.0 ratings??? Portugal is cooked if they allow this man to be the starting striker in the World Cup. Shame on anyone who calls him the greatest player ever.

All these elite managers are coming to the league and we’re heading into war with 'Carrick' another Yanited DNA appointment with no real managerial USP besides “go out there and av fun lads.” Just forfeit the season already.

@jeremycorbyn You’re a child. If it wasn’t for Palantir it is highly likely that hundreds of thousands of people would have starved to death in Africa during the pandemic. WFP won the Nobel Peace Prize on the back of Palantir’s Foundry.

Palantir has been granted “unlimited access” to NHS patient data. This is the same company that is involved in mass surveillance and genocide. We did not consent to this. Get Palantir out of our NHS, now.

🚨Gary Neville on Barca signing Marcus Rashford permanently: 🗣️: “I know many people will disagree with me because football today is obsessed with highlights. A player scores one incredible goal from 25 meters and suddenly everyone forgets the other 85 minutes. But coaches and teammates do not think like fans on social media. They look at reliability, decision-making, and consistency. Rashford is one of those players who can score the most difficult goals and then miss the easiest chances five minutes later. For me, that is a dangerous profile for a club like Barcelona. At Barça, you are not judged by moments, you are judged by control. You must help the team dominate games consistently. People say ‘sign him on a free transfer’ as if free means no risk. Some players cost nothing financially but still weaken your team on the pitch. If I was Barcelona, I would not sign him even for free because he does not elevate the collective level. Football is not about collecting famous names, it is about building balance. When you play for clubs fighting for every trophy, you cannot survive on unpredictability. In one match he looks world class, in the next he misses simple 1v1 chances that completely change the game. That inconsistency affects the confidence of the entire team. At Barcelona especially, forwards are expected to make the right decisions under pressure. The club already has enough players who can create magic moments. What they need are players who make the team stronger every week, not players who leave you wondering which version will appear. I always say football becomes weaker when clubs build teams based on reputation instead of chemistry and reliability. Rashford has talent, nobody can deny that, but talent alone is not enough to improve a team at the highest level"

Saying Declan Rice doesn’t deserve the PFA Players’ Player of the Year is honestly one of the most dishonest football takes this season. Because when you remove club rivalry, agendas and social media narratives, you’re left with the reality of what Rice has done this year, he’s been the complete midfielder in the Premier League. Not just good defensively. Not just “solid.” Complete. Rice has become the heartbeat of an Arsenal side that has spent the entire season competing at the very top. He’s played like a captain in every sense, leadership, consistency, intensity and quality every single week. • 34 appearances (33 starts) • 4 goals, 5 assists • 2,919 minutes played • Elite defensive metrics: 165+ tackles, 407 ball regains, 87.6% pass accuracy with 1,750+ successful passes, and standout long-ball and progressive passing numbers that rank among the very best in Europe. Elite ball recoveries, tackles, progressive passing numbers, long-ball accuracy, chance creation, defensive coverage and physical dominance. Add goals, assists and match-winning moments on top of that and you’re looking at one of the most rounded midfield seasons the league has seen in years. Arsenal’s entire system runs through him. When they press, Rice leads it. When they’re under pressure, Rice stabilises it. When they need progression, Rice provides it. When they need leadership, Rice delivers it. That’s influence. Real influence. People will point to Bruno Fernandes and yes, Bruno has had an unbelievable creative season. Nobody should deny that. The numbers are elite and he deservedly won the FWA award. But the PFA award is different. This is voted for by players. The people who actually play against these guys week in, week out. Players understand better than anyone how difficult it is to dominate every phase of midfield the way Rice has this season. Flashy numbers stand out online, but footballers recognise control, structure, physical dominance, tactical intelligence and consistency. Rice has been the more complete footballer in the better-performing side. That matters. And historically, the PFA usually rewards players who combine elite individual performances with genuine title-level impact. That’s why names like Henry, De Bruyne and Salah won it. Rice fits that profile far more this season than people want to admit. The “he’s just a DM” argument also died this season. He’s evolved beyond that label completely. He dictates tempo, carries the ball through pressure, creates chances, wins duels everywhere on the pitch and still protects the back line at an elite level. There are very few midfielders in world football right now who can do all of that simultaneously. That’s why Arsenal fans should make him the face of their individual award push too. Because when you split votes between Saliba, Gabriel, Raya and others, you weaken everybody’s case. Rice is the clearest all-round candidate Arsenal have. And if England have a strong World Cup with Rice at the centre of it all, the Ballon d’Or conversations won’t sound crazy anymore either. This season wasn’t hype. It wasn’t PR. It wasn’t social media clips. It was week after week of elite midfield football at the highest level. Declan Rice absolutely deserves to be right at the front of the PFA conversation and pretending otherwise is just noise.
