I Kings 22: 19-22. 34. 37: This biblical passage tells the story of Israeli King Ahab, who wanted to choose to go to war against his Syrian enemy to take a city called Ramoth Gilead. It was a bad idea and unnecessary, but King Ahab decided to fight anyway, but still wanted to ask his advisors whether he should launch the attack or not. They said definitely he should fight, and that Ahab would prevail. But his ally King of Judah, Jehoshephat, wanted him to inquire of their God first.  Ahab didn't like the word of the prophet, Micaiah, who gave sound advice (namely don't launch the war). The biblical passage explains how it went down and why Ahab ignored the sound advice: "And he said, Hear therefore the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. And the Lord said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Giliad? “And one said this way, and another said that way. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will persuade him. And the Lord said unto him, 'How'? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his advisors. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so... 34: And a certain man drew a bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of his armor...So the king died."
