You guys think this is tweet is bad (it is) let me tell you about the man i met this weekend who tried his best to get me to say that teaching algebra to his 8th grader was useless. He had it against expanding formulas like (x+y)*(2x+3y) “WHEN WOULD THEY EVER NEED IT?” he asked.

@Maryamization don't keep track of my $ close enough to know how much I never got back... it would hurt too much.

@Maryamization I have had it happen at least once but very rarely. There are very few moments in the last 10 years where I have not been owed at least a few hundred dollars. I believe in grad school I had a point where I was in the hole at least $3k.

Senior academics, a lowley postdoc would like to know: how senior do I have to be to reach a level where when I am invited to give a talk, someone else books my flight and hotel and I just show up. Like when do I get out of this stupid reimbursement cycle

@Maryamization OMG YES! I got carded the other day and bragged about it for like a week! I feel like someone is going to catch me in a real awkward situation soon where I am like "I'm not an undergrad" and they are gunna be like "Yeah, I know. No one thought that."

Being mistaken for an undergrad has gone from mildly offensive to flattering real quick, huh? Is this just what aging is 😂
