Remarkably ambitious scheme for Waterloo Station. Waterloo is a vital piece of infrastructure and has some superb Edwardian architecture, but its surroundings are dismal and wayfinding is extraordinarily counterintuitive. Successful remodelling could be a huge improvement.

Sterling Heights, MI, joins a list of other Detroit suburbs that will convert dying malls into town centers. Lakeside Mall will be redeveloped into 2,800 new housing units and a town center. Converting dead malls is an easy way to create town centers in the suburbs.

The former City Bakery building on Saint George's Road in Glasgow. Constructed in the 1930s, it is somewhat overshadowed by its much more ornate neighbour, Saint George's Mansions, but it's a nice example of a Modern Classical commercial building. #glasgow #architecture

After the demolition of Ravenscraig Steelworks in 1996 and Chapelcross Power Station in 2007, there are only 9 cooling towers left in Scotland.
All of them at Grangemouth Refinery.
With the refinery's future uncertain, should @HistEnvScot move to protect these industrial icons?
