Pace of play is based on the individual and not their handicap. Having a low handicap doesn’t always equate quick pace of play

@UESgolf @PaigeSpiranac It's called "ready golf", and it has nothing to do with skill. My wife was a 30+ handicap when she used to keep it, and plays faster than just about anyone I know.

@MyGolfSpy Learn to keep the ball in play off the tee. Don't try to make hero shots. This will help you avoid the big numbers that drive most golfers over 100. And always remember, for someone trying to break 100, there's nothing wrong with a bogey. Bogey golf = 90.

What is the absolute best advice you would you give a golfer trying to BREAK 100?

@imRyanDietz @MyGolfSpy Faulty old school/traditional thought. Keeping the ball in play and in good position off the tee is incredibly important. It sets up the entire hole. If I'm driving well, I'm scoring well. If I'm not, it's a long round.

@MyGolfSpy Start with the short game, and work your way to the driver. Not the other way around.

@imRyanDietz @xbergermanx @MyGolfSpy Disagree strongly. If you're always short or in trouble off the tee, you're lying 3 or 4 by the time the short game comes into play. A ball hit into the woods that takes an extra shot to get out, or a penalty with a drop in a bad spot is much worse than a putt missed by an inch.

I was always taught missing a putt by 1" is no different than hitting the driver into the water. Meaning the short game can easily chew up your score. It's far more embarrassing to not get off the tee, so I get it. But if we are strictly looking at lowering scores, the short game is where it's at.
