アメリカはとても深いBBQ文化を持つ国と言うことを知りました。 カリフォルニアは何故か嫌われることが多い州だということを知りました。 フロリダは全裸男性がサケやドラッグをやりながらワニを殴ることが多い州だということを知りました。

@KSpikefish A functioning deal I which Iran is free from sanctions and the threat of its neighbors is really easy to renegotiate and extend.

@KSpikefish @clareanneath Your wife will have to settle for low-skilled work, such as working as a cleaner, public toilet attendant. Your wife get lucky & end up working for Amazon. You've had a maid for 25 years.

Hot take that’s actually historically accurate: Women have ALWAYS worked. Every culture. Every era. Every economic system. The difference? It used to be home-based and family-integrated. You didn’t surrender your children to an institution, fight traffic, and spend 9 hours under fluorescent lights. “Women shouldn’t work” isn’t traditional. It’s not even historical. It’s a myth. The real conversation we should be having: why did we build a society where thriving economically requires severing family bonds and why do we call that progress?

If you're wondering why Donald Trump continues to post unhinged, insane tweets, it's because it works. It's called "anchoring," and it's part of the Art of the Deal. He was never going to invade Greenland. He didn't even threaten nuclear weapons in Iran (the Left just made that up). But he keeps getting his way. Why would he stop?

@KristanHawkins Hot take: If you're not ready for a baby, keep it in your pants. I know that seems wild and radical these days, but it is a 100% safe and effective way of preventing unwanted pregnancy. One of many reasons sex belongs in marriage.

So many say, “I’m not ready to have a baby.” But somehow, they’re ready to end that baby’s life. That decision is permanent. That child will never come back. You’re not just changing your life, you’re erasing someone else’s entire future.

@ChristinaPushaw This is very common for liberal elites. They get married and stay married because it's the most powerful way to build a legacy, but they ironically would deny those same benefits to others.

What I find interesting about the Newsoms is that they both relentlessly promote liberal/left ideologies that are corrosive to family formation and undermine traditional values. However, at the same time, they've been in a heterosexual marriage for 20+ years and have 4 children together. By those measures, they are more "trad" in terms of their own lifestyle than most Americans are, even a lot of conservatives aren't married with 4 kids. So what that tells me is the Newsoms KNOW that the traditional family model is the best; that's why they chose it when they both could've chosen anything else. But as elites they still promote insidious ideologies that end up harming the ordinary people who listen to them. It's a perfect illustration of "luxury beliefs."

The evidence of loss of authority is that the Roman Catholic Church is led by a bishop (the "Bishop of Rome"), whose authority traces back to Linus, also a bishop. Bishops do not hold the keys that apostles hold. So even if the Catholic Church's line of authority were unbroken (which is by no means clear), they would at best have a claim to the lesser or Levitical Priesthood keys.

What’s the evidence that church lost that authority? That’s the question
Kramer's Gospel Thoughts@KramersFaith

@jacelala Hmm, I'd probably need to formulate a precise definition when I'm not super busy with work, but as a simple definition, I'd probably say that it was the loss of Apostolic keys, office, and authority necessary to govern Christ's church.

@PTSPentax @KramersFaith @jacelala i would argue the world is far more full of evil and degeneracy today than the 1000s. The supposed “restoration” by joseph smith didn’t erase human sin.

@KristanHawkins My mother-in-law was pregnant almost 50 years ago and was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was told to abort the baby and get chemo. She refused. She and the baby are both alive today. Say what you want about mothers-in-law, this story alone makes her a legend.

I am reflexively anti-war, and felt that at first with this one. But I carefully judged the action against D&C 98 and determined that the United States and Israel were both justified in fighting Iran. Trump is still wild and egomaniacal, but that’s true of most effective leaders throughout history. And stopping Iran from getting a nuke is, in my view, a righteous goal. If they got one, they would definitely use it against Israel.

Self defense is righteous, but non-defensive war is literally satanic. It is based on the satanic principle that a person can kill others to gain an advantage.

According to the internet, my forehead is very important. One saint even reposted my photo with ‘measurements’ of it superimposed. I’m rather concerned I’ve occupied that much space in his mind. He is married, after all. 😬 Other male saints (also married 😬) have spent time creating unflattering AI ‘art.’ It’s always interesting what people choose to fixate on. I’m grateful for the face God gave me and the life behind it. If my forehead is the best you’ve got, I’m doing just fine.

Correct. She was appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. She is appointed for life and she could theoretically be the deciding vote on a 5-4 case. But that’s unlikely to happen. She has no principled approach to the law that will ever yield an interesting or unexpected result. She’s too reliably left wing on every issue to ever be a swing vote. And if she doesn’t have the Chief’s trust, she’ll never write an important decision. She’ll be reduced to writing screeching dissents where she thinks she’s scoring sick burns, but really she’s trying to hide her privilege and play at being a ghetto queen.

In looking at the transcript of the Birthright Citizenship case oral argument, I noted something that I think is indicative of why Justice Jackson seems to be "wearing out her welcome" with other Justices. The CJ has brought a bit of structure to oral arguments -- at least to the beginning. The Attorney takes 60-120 seconds to give a "30,000 foot" overview of his client's position. The CJ then starts the questioning with Justice Thomas, and then goes in order of tenure on the Court. Twice in the Birthright Citizenship case Justice Jackson jumped in ahead of her turn, and stepped on the answers to questions that were posed by Justices on the Court longer than she has been. She first did it at page 23 of the transcript, while Gorsuch was in the middle of asking a question. He ignored her and kept asking his question. She then did it to Justice Barrett -- trying to jump in after Justice Gorsuch finished, when Justice Barrett was next. Justice Kavanaugh opted to not ask any questions in the first round. In fact, she did it twice to Barrett -- coming back and trying to interject a question again when Barrett was still asking questions during the first round. When she did it a 3rd time, Barrett just let her go. Her inability to control herself, and her seeming indifference to the protocol the others all respect are the kinds of little things that end up with you occupying the William O. Douglas seat on the Court.

@shipwreckedcrew @shipwreckedcrew let's say your hypothesis is true, & I don't doubt it is, what then? What recourse is there for the other Justices to deal with such behavior? I don't think there's much that can be done is there?
