Today, we showcase Stuart Kasozi, who took a deep dive into SDG 7 with @CheveningFCDO. He was also able to access regional and international energy and power frameworks. #CheveningAt40 #ChooseChevening

@LordMayorDublin Closing clubs and bars at 2am diminishes the country's tax base.
Adults should be allowed to party responsibly and then the government maximizes tac collections.

@UetclMD @uetcl @newsUMA @GCICUganda @newvisionwire @DailyMonitor @nbstv @MauriceMugisha @SolomonSerwanjj @AndrewMwenda This has been happening for so many years. We need to first look into the findings of the investigations from the previous cases, then develop a model to counter similar cases reoccurring. Furthermore we need to brainstorm on other likely ways of vandalism and prevent them.
English

This week @uetcl lost 4 #Towers (Ugx 1bn) to vandalism. A tower that falls, turns into scrap, this is absolutely sad! Please share with me possible ideas to solve vandalism. @newsUMA @GCICUganda @newvisionwire @DailyMonitor @nbstv @MauriceMugisha @SolomonSerwanjj @AndrewMwenda

@geofrey_muta @rkabushenga That's fine for small scale consumption. Several homes that are connected to the grid have the option of batteries and inverters for back up, just like you. I thought you wanted to discuss battery energy storage for homes, using alternative energy supplies other than the grid.
English

@KStuart25 @rkabushenga In the ongoing load shedding mix, I keep my battery charged and can work on my laptop and power my router for a whole day. 8 hours plus charged by grid electricity.

@Josephharryoch4 @NankabirwaRS @rkabushenga @MEMD_Uganda @SMuyita @PAU_Uganda @UegclOfficial @uetcl @ERA_Uganda @Rural_MEMD @UNOC_UG @Patricia_Litho Please raise your concern and we can attempt to address it. But also feel free to share your insights and knowledge about Uganda's energy, we will be appreciative. @NankabirwaRS

@NankabirwaRS @rkabushenga @MEMD_Uganda @SMuyita @PAU_Uganda @UegclOfficial @uetcl @ERA_Uganda @Rural_MEMD @UNOC_UG @Patricia_Litho Unfortunately you have no content concerning Ugandan energy, perhaps you need more briefing.
English

This was a very good discourse @rkabushenga Looking forward to more so that we can provide valuable information to all Ugandans.
Great thanks to you and all that tuned in. @MEMD_Uganda @SMuyita @PAU_Uganda @UegclOfficial @uetcl @ERA_Uganda @Rural_MEMD @UNOC_UG @Patricia_Litho

If you missed my conversation with Hon. @NankabirwaRS, Minister of @MEMD_Uganda on energy, here is the recording twitter.com/i/spaces/1rmxP…

@NankabirwaRS @rkabushenga @MEMD_Uganda @SMuyita @PAU_Uganda @UegclOfficial @uetcl @ERA_Uganda @Rural_MEMD @UNOC_UG @Patricia_Litho Thanks honourable for your time and sharing your knowledge.
This approach can serve as public engagement if well managed. Public input in policy formulation is key. @NankabirwaRS
English

@mbed2001 @rkabushenga A generator can be 100MW installed but only available to generate 50MW at a certain point, that's why we might get a deficit in supply and perhaps import, or load shed worst case scenario @MEMD_Uganda @NankabirwaRS
English

@rkabushenga Kindly enlighten usabout the current Umeme loadshedding because of problem at Isimba when all along we were being told we are generating more power than we can consume at present?
English

@mbed2001 @rkabushenga We can't generate more than what we consume, generation is balanced with the load demand. But we have more installed capacity than our load demand. But some generators may not be able to generate to installed capacity due to maintenance and other operational issues.@NankabirwaRS
English

@SamuelKangume @rkabushenga @ruthnankabirwa1 @EllyKaruhanga We have plenty of alternative energy sources indeed. It's the government to come up with a model that can help in developing and harnessing energy from these alternative sources, especially for off-grid places. @MEMD_Uganda @NankabirwaRS
English

@rkabushenga @ruthnankabirwa1 can't we adopt the use or generation of power from cowdung more so to the cattle corridor. This I think we need more sensitization about this cause the resources are already available. But be have no knowledge of using it @EllyKaruhanga
English

@AkatuhuriraNob3 @rkabushenga The hydro power plants along the rivers mainly River Nile were built using donor money, we have to pay back these loans. About the unit costs going up regularly, they're other prevailing factors that are factored into determining the tariff @NankabirwaRS @MEMD_Uganda
English

@rkabushenga My simple question is , Ugandan River are naturally given and establishment of dams was done decades ago why can't the minister and team cut the prices to a poor Ugandan instead every year I see an increase in prices
English

@geofrey_muta @rkabushenga On the household level, they can be used, but again it will depend on energy source is used to charge these batteries. If it's charging them using the grid, it's not worth the investment. If it's other technologies charging the batteries, then households can embrace local hybrids
English

@rkabushenga How do we utilize batteries to store energy both at household and grid level?
English

@geofrey_muta @rkabushenga We can look into battery storage on the grid, once as a country we start intensifying frequency sensitivity. Our hydro generators at the moment are giving us the required system inertia to handle system frequency. @MEMD_Uganda
