@PhilipArdagh Mine is The Silver Chair, read to my class when we were around seven by the lovely Miss Currie. We were so engrossed by half way that we begged her to tell us the ending and she eventually agreed to reveal the last word. It didn’t help as much as we hoped!

My mother taught me to read but, every Saturday morning, my father would read me a chapter of a Narnia book which made them all the more special. My father's long gone now but I still have the books and the memories. I think my favourite is The Silver Chair. Which is yours?

Look, I’m not going to have a row with my husband on our wedding anniversary of all days. But, BIZARRELY, he had never before heard the expression “It’s not the hen that cackles most that lays the largest egg”. He’s just laughing incredulously and implying I made it up.
