The Dutch, naturally, have this sorted. At this #Delft intersection, cyclists and pedestrians get a continuous green. The arrival of a car or truck sets off a sensor, which allows it to cross. The default is green for humans, red for cars. 📽️ @modacitylife

Day 1 of bike commute. Coworker taking similar route was hit by a car recently and broke her ankle. Actually, at every workplace I’ve been, I’ve known someone who was hit commuting this way (except in Japan!). Wish me luck! 😬

Whatever your feelings about the Trump shooting, it’s worth pointing out that if a Secret Service team can’t protect a presidential candidate, maybe expecting Mrs. Krabappel to protect her 4th grade students from an active shooter is unrealistic.

@AwfulLotOfEagle @ellegist Yes, those insect repellent plugs! One was driving me crazy at an office, until I found it and unplugged it. Others thought I was losing it because no one else could hear it. 🤷‍♀️

@ellegist I've got crazy acute hearing, probably linked to my autism. I can hear electricity when something switches on, those plug in ultrasonic insect and rodent repellent things, old style TVs made a horrendous squealing noise...

You eat one amazing peach then spend the rest of your life buying lousy peaches trying to repeat the experience. Forever chasing that peach dragon; that’s how good it was.
