@aeberman12 Follow me on this: If I wanted to buy a barrel from Steven who has a lot of oil but can't get it to me cause he fumbled the key for the storage I'd be forced to buy from Jake Problem is Jake now has a lot of customers cause of the fumble so his price is going to increase

The market is saying the constraint isn't oil in the ground It's getting barrels where they're needed, when they're needed Brent above $100, backwardation surging, and only modest speculative buying It all points to a market pricing logistical risk, not resource scarcity #Oil #Brent #Energy #MiddleEast #Hormuz #BabelMandeb #Commodities #Markets

🛢️ OIL CONTEXT WEEKLY 🛢️ Crude prices continue to spiral upward, temporarily breaking back above $100/bbl as the Iran War escalated and the Houthis more directly joined the conflict with a “maritime blockade” on Saudi Arabia. Summary below, link to full report in reply.

@GavMcCracken Ah, "experts" I made fun of a guy who insinuated that geopol war events could be predicted by TA and therefore he was shorting brent crude at 76 He promptly told me how he was up 120% ytd and blocked me

100% agree. 🇨🇳 China's strategic posture: • endure elevated oil prices longer than anyone can • accelerate substitution while others scramble • free-ride the security architecture while optimizing residual demand • convert non-buying into sustained market pressure #OOTT
June Goh@JuneGoh_Sparta

Quick take on China. They started at the best position and kept pace through the crisis. They have more handles and buffers than the world imagined they had. #oott

Added death of the petrodollar to my 2027 bingo card Imagine the money printing the US would need to inflate away 40 ish trillion in debt with 20%~ being short term loans which would have to be refinanced with even higher interest rates Insane tax hikes and spending cuts #OOTT

@BrettErickson28 Still pounding the sink about how he can't atp What would Iran want in exchange? Control of hormuz, reparations (many billions), nuclear and it would end with China adjacent Irans sole hegemony over the ME and the death of the petrodollar And they'll want it upfront

Many people in the United States, many people across the WORLD feel helpless right now as President Trump continues to risk wide-scale global devastation despite all rational reasoning pointing to making a deal. “I’m just a random person. Nobody cares what I think. What’s the point?” I AM a nobody. In the grand scheme of life, in the grand scheme of this WAR I’m a nobody. But MULTIPLE times, I have written a tweet that goes hyper-viral. Multiple times I have published op-Ed’s that received outreach from ACTUALLY important people. I’m a nobody, but it all compounds. “Yes Brett but this IS your area of expertise. This IS your job. I literally work in XYZ industry in ABC location. Nobody cares.” I understand. And there’s a ladder. Maybe that IS true. But maybe you have an exceptional argument to make. Perhaps that reaches someone like me, or someone at the “slightly more influential than average” level. Then that influences how I think. It refines MY communication. MY argumentation. Then THAT reaches someone with REAL influence. Then THEY communicate more effectively to the ACTUAL decision-makers that can change the direction of this war. Change the direction of history. It all compounds. It all makes a difference. But it requires YOU, dear reader, to TRY. To speak out. To compound the overall effort. You DO matter. You CAN make a difference here.

So let me be blunt and real > Iran War > Mid terms > Seasonality > Yields > Nasdaq new lows > KOSPI sell off > Earning season All of this happening at the same time. I am not making money in this environment. And anyone who is is either day trading OR Faking it.

@PumpCapitalLLC And it would mean the death of the petrodollar, end of US bases in the ME and Iranian hegemony with a nuclear warhead quickly following Hormuz reopening would likely take a grotesque sum of money upfront before happening aswell Israel would be completely fucked

The problem with buying oil right now is you are one Truth Social post away from being incinerated At any moment Trump could write "Hormuz is Iranian territory our mission is complete were leaving" and oil will go to $60
Warner Elliott@warnerelliott60

@PumpCapitalLLC Actually, oil would be a good investment right now; you could potentially double or triple your money in a short time. I would sell at $200 a barrel.

Kazakhstan's oil output was cut by ~50% following a Ukrainian drone attack. That's another ~400 kbpd of oil supply gone. We are losing oil supplies left and right

@energydumbshit If you think about it every single drop of oil on this planet is safely stored away for future use, there can never be a supply deficit

@DarioCpx Yesterday was a bit of a squeeze, a pullback would be expected. New frothing shorts take positions with the genius analysis of "oil high = bad, will be manipulated down" Or TAtards Btfo next week and then they'll probably change their tune if they can think

Everyone's calling this an oil story. It's not. Saudi Arabia just made its biggest official price cut in decades. Chinese crude grades are trading at historic discounts. Cargoes are rerouting across the globe looking for buyers that used to be easy to find. At the same time, breakeven inflation expectations are falling sharply in tips markets. That is not a coincidence, it is the same signal from two different corners of the global system. One side says there are too many barrels for current demand. The other says nominal growth expectations are weakening. Put them together and you get a global downturn increasingly centered on one place. China's households are borrowing less, spending less, avoiding big purchases. Property is still collapsing. Bank lending is in crisis. Government bonds are the only thing filling the gap. The market can handle more supply if demand shows up. What it cannot absorb is supply returning right as the biggest marginal buyer goes missing.

I closed my $QQQ calls and $PENG calls today, with the weak bounce it looks to be breaking down , likely overnight. I bought $QQQ puts. Trump seems hellbent on escalting in Iran before the midterms which seems irrational to me but I don't want to ride risk down to mid 27k on the Nasdaq.
