#WATCH | Bareilly, UP | Man seen in viral video being flung through the air during violent storms in UP yesterday, Nanhe Miyan, says, "I am a labourer... I was working when the storm struck... That’s when the structure began to lift into the air. There were four other people with me. I told them, "I’ll hold this down; you tie it securely."... We were holding onto that tin when I was swept away right along with it. My grip slipped, and I lost hold of it. I don't know exactly what happened next, only Allah knows... I landed about 80 feet away. It was a maize field, and it was filled with water. I ended up embedded in the mud there. A man happened to be watching from nearby... He came running out of his house. He pulled me onto his shoulders... Then, he helped me sit on his motorcycle and took me away... I underwent an X-ray examination and was then taken to Bareilly. I sustained a fracture requiring a metal plate, and I have injuries all over my body. While I was being tossed through the air, I was constantly thinking of Allah... I did not think that I would survive... I want my story to reach the MLA. So far, no one has come to visit me... I have young children to support... There is no one else in the family to earn a living. I am in distress. I will only be able to work again once my injuries have healed... I appeal to the government to provide whatever assistance it can to help me... A young person, I don't know who exactly, recorded that video of the incident..."

Never have I seen Kolkata this peaceful in the last 15 years. Less traffic on roads, less people too. This shows the extent of lawlessness that prevailed. Half the two-wheelers/cabs probably had no valid papers. This now once again feels like the city of my childhood. 🧡

When Udayanidhi Stalin repeatedly attacks "sanathanam" in Tamil, why is there not more outrage among the highly religious Tamil Hindu population?
I believe it comes down to language.
In Tamil language, the word "sanathanam" (eternal in English) is not in regular use. Most Tamil people do not know this word and I did not know it myself as a child.
On the other hand the word "dharma" (spelled as "dharmam" or "dharumam") is common in Tamil and there is a district named Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu. There is also the word "aram" used in Tamil with the same meaning as dharma.
Interestingly, in Hindi, the word "dharam" means "religion" in general and Hinduism is "hindu dharm" or "sanatan dharam" and Christianity is "isai dharam" in Hindi.
But in Tamil usage, the word "dharmam" would effectively mean "Hindu dharam" in Hindi.
Now if Udayanidhi had attacked "dharmam" in Tamil (which effectively means Hinduism) he would be widely criticised for proclaiming adharmam.
That is why he is picking the word "sanathanam" to attack because that word is not widely known in Tamil.
With all his "sincere" effort, he is making the word known in Tamil too and he has made the already huge anti DMK vote in Tamil Nadu even bigger. The DMK has never won a majority on its own ever, because of that huge strong anti-DMK current. They established that current with their constant attacks on Hindu deities. The AIADMK never did that and they harvested the anti-DMK current well.
Now, in spite of the TVK being the new anti-DMK party and in spite of the AIADMK splitting the anti-DMK vote (see how I worked it!) and in spite of the DMK spending extraordinary amounts of cash, in spite of the DMK having a strong alliance and the TVK having no alliance, the DMK lost the election.
Udayanidhi wants to ensure the DMK would never come back. May the eternal sanatana dharma grant his wish 🙏😉

Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Mizoram and Delhi have been categorised as 'exemplars' in the logistics performance ranking for 2025, according to a report released by the Commerce and Industry Ministry on Wednesday.
The logistics index chart, released as part of LEADS (Logistics ease across different states) 2025 report, is an indicator of the efficiency of logistical services necessary for promoting exports and economic growth.
'Exemplars' represent the top-performing states and Union Territories (UTs) that demonstrate sustained excellence across policy, infrastructure, service delivery and regulatory dimensions in the logistics sector, as per the report.
LEADS is the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade's (DPIIT) flagship national assessment of logistics performance across states and Union Territories and serves as an important benchmarking and reform tool for improving logistics efficiency across the country.
The report was released by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal in the national capital.
