@ABDanielleSmith You must be so sad to witness that collective bargaining works and you didn’t get the chance to see them ordered back to work, or have the opportunity to get yourself involved and not-withstanding someone else’s rights away.

This is welcome news for Alberta travellers and WestJet flight attendants. I want to thank the teams at WestJet and CUPE for their hard work in reaching a tentative agreement and ending this labour disruption. We look forward to a successful ratification vote and seeing operations fully restored as quickly as possible for passengers across Alberta. Full details: westjet.com/en-ca/news/202…

@downhomesunset @neudorf_ab Hell, I earn a good wage, and I’m lucky to not need assistance, but even I’m finding it hard to make ends meet each month. I can only imagine how hard it is for those being kept below the poverty line by corporate welfare and government corruption.

@downhomesunset @neudorf_ab AISH and ADAP recipients don’t need to do a budget exercise - they aren’t getting enough to live. My tax dollars are spent on endless corporate handouts but I would much rather they be spent on giving AISH and ADAP recipients enough money to live with dignity and comfort.

True story. The Strathmore Stampede started because a group of ranchers camped here on their way to Calgary and decided to show off a little. Sixty years later it is the third largest rodeo in the country. Had such a great day at the parade and the rodeo grounds with MLA Chantelle DeJonge @CdeJongeAB.

This is a superb piece that academically skewers the Alberta governments Bill 29. Being able to purchase your own diagnostic test will not lead to better health (except the companies financial health).

I knew this conversation was coming, and this is different from what I'm talking about below 👇 To every politician who keeps campaigning on “mandatory forced treatment” as the solution to addiction and homelessness: you can't simply strip people of their rights because they're poor, homeless, using drugs, or struggling with mental health. How about we put that same political energy into building voluntary treatment people can actually access, supportive recovery services, mental-health care, and affordable housing? Then make recovery easier to access. You want fewer people homeless? Build housing. You want fewer people dying? Keep them alive long enough to have another chance. We don't have a shortage of punishment. We have a shortage of services, treatment and housing. cbc.ca/news/canada/br…

Alberta's gov't is allowing self-referral & pay privately for MRI, CT scans, ultrasounds, X-rays without a physician’s referral. They defend this by pointing to countries like Germany, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea. That comparison does not withstand scrutiny. (1/17)

Actually, @NightShiftMD, under ALL conditions, dual practice is harmful. Summed up in one sentence, "...no country that allows dual practice has found a way to eliminate its harmful effects even with regulation." #par2439" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">canlii.ca/t/j9kpw#par2439 (1/15)

lol, no, thank unions. Capital would work you 24/7 in a coalmine starting at the ripe old age of 7 if they were allowed to. Every ounce of leisure time working people have is because workers organized.

@ABDanielleSmith @RajanJSaw @demetriosnAB Must have been 3 really short conversations, because you’ve done fuck all to improve life for Albertans. You’ve destroyed our world-class health care and education systems, insurance is through the roof, you’re stealing from the most vulnerable, and you’re corrupt. Need I go on?

Three communities. Three great conversations about Alberta’s future. It was wonderful spending time with Albertans in Calgary Edgemont, Calgary North East alongside MLA Rajan Sawhney @RajanJSaw, and Calgary Bow with MLA Demetrios Nicolaides @demetriosnAB. We talked about the work our government is doing to improve healthcare, build schools for Alberta’s growing communities, strengthen public safety, and keep our economy growing. Thank you to everyone who came out and shared your perspectives.

Mostly American owned O&G companies. That money won’t be going to Alberta, or to Albertans. If the UCP were that confident that the province would benefit they would restore and improve our public healthcare, and wouldn’t be stealing from the disabled.
JEeEnEnAA@jennAA2014

@UCPCaucus That money isn’t going to Albertans, it goes to O&G companies. This pipeline is corporate socialism Your government has had RECORD revenues &still refuses to fund essential public services. We are now being told we must pay for healthcare or languish waiting on public wait lists…

Thing I find "unique" about the UCP is they are vindictive. Where some governments tend to be unbiased, and maybe even try to "win over" some people, the UCP punishes and attacks those that aren't on board. Those not on board are their sworn enemy, and they are cruel and evil.
