Sobered by last night and trying to practice what people call radical acceptance, not of a presidential candidate because surprising things happen. Just plainly sobered by the thought that, with other individuals to choose from, masses of people still hail Trump. He’s what they actually want in a leader. A bully. A verbally abusive, artfully and purposely divisive bully who has all but left the Republican Party unrecognizable. I don’t know. I just can’t understand it. Maybe I’ve got a mental block. But, you who are staunch Republicans, why don’t you care about your own party more than that? Forgive me. I don’t want to be a repeat performance of my 2016 self. I don’t. I didn’t like her anymore than you did. I intend to deal differently with this. I do not intend to get obsessed. I do not intend to lose more relationships. I don’t intend to talk about this regularly. As the Scriptures say, I want to seek peace and pursue it. I want to be a person of kindness, love and compassion. But I’ve got to move to a place of radical acceptance. It was one thing to cast a vote for a party’s only candidate, reasoning the choice as the lesser of two evils. This is quite another thing. This is wide-open-eyed, “we WANT Trump!” Anyway, this is where we are. We can complain all we want about our leaders but, in this government by the people, at the end of the day and the beginning of November, our candidates are mirrors of ourselves.

@helloreilly I’d do more art. I’d love to learn to crochet and further my baking skills, mainly because with kids and a husband, it’s not always the time that’s not there, but the brain power. I had time to knit while pumping but I did not have the brainpower to learn how.

@New_E_Mom Speech is not something to wait on, and be proactive in teaching your child, but do not become frustrated with progress because she’s not old enough to read yet. She’ll get there, just make letters and learning fun and you’re on your way!

I appreciate all advice but don't trust the suggestion to wait until kids are 6-7 to learn to read bc I was told to just wait when it came to speech, but changing my methods and seeking a professional was super helpful and a win-win situation.

@New_E_Mom She’s three. She’s not developmentally read to read. I would expose her to lots of words and letter sounds and read to her. The best way to teach her to read and letter sounds are books.

Alphabet teaching quandry. My 3yo despises letter of the week, flashcards or any activity that feels contrived. But if we are colouring and I just draw a G and say it says Guh and then an O and ask her what it says, she says Guh-Oh. So. Do I just do a lot of that?

@BethMooreLPM Beth, I always held you at arms distance before you left the sbc. I lumped you in with “them”, those pretty women who don’t share struggles. When you were told to go home, and you stood up to it, and I thought, well, she’s different. And I’ve loved you ever since. Thank you.

I’ll get slammed for this but it’s been on my heart to say for months. I love you SBC women so much. You were such a privilege to serve. You made me study Scripture 10 times harder than I would have. You gave me room to make so many mistakes and grow. You were my first and longest compadres in Bible study. I would not have chosen to leave you. I believe a fight is worth having if you are fighting for someone you love. You are who I fought for even if you disagreed and even if my mouth got away from me. Most of my ministry was too far behind me to have fought for my own selfish sake. When you get to be my age, you start thinking what you want to make sure you’ve said to those you cherish before it’s too late. I’ve been thinking for weeks now how I wished I could say this to you but haven’t known where to post it. I decided this was as good a place as any: Thank you thank you thank you thank you. What grace of God to serve you. Thank you so much for allowing me into your church libraries, into your dens, into your sanctuaries, into your lives. It was never lost on me. I was aware every second what a gift from God you were. Through all eternity, I will thank God for the honor to serve you, study Scripture and seek the Lord Jesus with you. I’m positive I love him more because of your impact on me. I had problems with the SBC. But you weren’t one of them. You will only ever be dear to me. I will carry you on my heart to the grave. I love you so.

@FlorioGina People are crazy when you start getting crunchy. You should tell them some people birth their children OUTSIDE OF THE HOSPITAL! They will literally wilt away in panic.

I posted a couple things about raw milk on my IG and I have been flooded with angry people calling me a “stupid fucking hippie,” “delusional bitch,” etc. I honestly had no idea the topic of dairy could make people so rabid.
