@Thebloodwyrmmm That's a massive sea of people from above! Impossible to count every single one precisely in such a dense aerial shot, but there are clearly tens of thousands packed into that area—easily 20k+. What's the event?

@PeterSchiff @saylor Since you are so bearish on Bitcoin and you keep encouraging people to sell it, why don't you short it? There are so many available instruments out there to Short it... Put your money where your mouth is Peter.

@saylor Congratulations, you finally averaged your price down. The good news is that you’ll likely keep averaging down as Bitcoin continues to fall. The bad news is that your total loss on your entire position will keep increasing the more you buy.

When Bitcoin breaks $88K you’re gonna see some serious shit. Bitcoin’s down nearly 30% from its high in dollars and 42% from its high priced in gold. How many people popping champagne corks at Bitcoin $100K parties a year ago expected 2025 to be this bad? 2026 could be far worse.

Krikalev’s wife Elena worked at mission control and spoke to him weekly. “I tried never to talk about unpleasant things because it must have been hard for him.” Elena Krikalev But in early March, 1992, Krikalev and Volkov received word that a replacement in the form of German Klaus-Dietrich Flade was en route and the pair could finally prep for their return to Earth aboard the Soyuz capsule. Landing in the newly formed nation of Kazakhstan on March 25th, the man they dubbed The Last Soviet, was finally home, albeit a very different home from the one he had left. Almost a year in space had taken its toll on him and he emerged “as pale as flour and sweaty like a big lump of wet dough.” He needed the help of four men to stand upright. Fears over his alarming physical condition and possible health issues were eventually allayed because despite spending over twice as long in space as initially intended, the man they dubbed 'The Last Soviet' suffered no major lasting ill-effects. “Krikalev had completed 5,000 orbits around the Earth and witnessed thousands of sunrises and sunsets. Instead of a couple of months in space, he had spent a year.”

The Man Lost in Space 🌌🚀 In 1991, cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev left earth for the Mir space station on a supposed 150 day mission. Not long after, his Soviet homeland collapsed into non-existence, leaving Krikalev orbiting earth in limbo without a home to return to. The purpose of the 5 month long journey to the space station was for Krikalev and others to perform routine system repairs, conduct scientific experiments and carry out spacewalks if and when necessary. They arrived on May 18th, 1991 - to a rocky start. After the targeting system malfunctioned, Krikalev had to manually dock the craft, meaning the smallest of miscalculations would have been catastrophic for him, cosmonaut Alexander Volkov, scientist Anatoly Artebarsky and British astronaut Helen Sherman. While the Soviet performed a successful docking, it was a foreshadowing of the troubles that lay ahead. By his own admission Krikalev loved life on board Mir in the early stages. He went about his duties with gusto, never tiring of the spectacular view of Earth from the viewing port. “Every spare moment we tried to look at it.” His daily routine began with an 8am start. After breakfast, several hours were spent getting suited and booted for daily responsibilities. At 1pm it was time for lunch. After returning for three more hours work, a daily physical workout was completed. But while all was in order aboard Mir, the same could not be said for back on Earth where the Soviet Union was crumbling, and the tumultuous politics that accompanied this historical collapse would directly affect Krikalev 400kms above in space. Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev announced that when Krikalev’s mission was over he would be replaced in space by a Kazakh cosmonaut. But with this came a problem – not a single Kazakh cosmonaut existed and as a result Krikalev would be forced to remain in space well past his deadline until a Kazakh cosmonaut passed training. Krikalev kept his focus and went about his duties. Four months in and both Artebarsky and Sherman departed Mir. After they left, Krikalev was informed that the fast-disintegrating Soviet Union no longer had the funds to replace him and Volkov, and that the pair would be left up there for an unspecified period of time. Unsurprisingly, this changed the dynamic greatly for Krikalev who lost his zest for daily life in space. The walls began closing in on his cramped living area that he described as “a death trap held together by wire, duct tape and WD-40”. He admitted to feeling extreme stress over the situation, fear of being away for longer than his body would allow, and sadness over extending his time away from his 9-month-old daughter. On Christmas Day, 1991 the Soviet Union dissolved permanently. Not only was there now nobody coming to relieve Krikalev anymore, but he no longer had an actual country. His hometown of Leningrad was renamed St. Petersburg and all those in charge there either killed or replaced. The once formidable Soviet Empire would split into 15 separate nations. Long before ever departing for Mir, Krikalev was acutely aware of the dangers of overstaying the recommended duration in space. They included muscle atrophy, bone density loss, blindness, radiation sickness, a weakening immune system and perhaps most terrifying off all – a psychological meltdown. Now, with every passing week, these possibilities and permutations became distinctly more likely. In the back of his mind, throughout all the uncertainty, Krikalev knew there was always one option to return home. The Soyuz space capsule could be used as a means of emergency escape. But departing via the tiny escape pod would have signaled the absolute end of the Mir Space Station. Without someone to operate and maintain it, the station would be no more. Krikalev, every inch a Soviet patriot, didn’t have the heart to give up on what not long ago was a beacon of national prestige, prosperity and technological prowess. © Eric Betz #drthehistories

This is starting to get interesting. Gold is now up almost $30, about to hit $3,480. Silver is up over 70 cents, about to hit $40.50. Meanwhile, Bitcoin is back below $108,000 and looks poised to go much lower. Gold and silver breaking out is very bearish for Bitcoin.
