Sunday World Fake News Update Last week, the Press Council Ombudsman ruled that @SundayWorldZA had published false claims about AfriForum in August 2024 and ordered the publication to retract and apologise in the next print issue. The Sunday World, however, failed to comply with the ruling, with Acting Editor Ngwako Malatji's excuse being: "Our intention is to publish the findings of all the complaints lodged by Afriforum simultaneously." It is clear that Sunday World knows they will likely be ordered to retract and apologise regarding all 3 separate complaints lodged by @AfriForum, therefore this seems like a desperate attempt to minimize the embarrassment by combining all the apologies into one. Social media reaches more people than your publication, Mr. Malatji. I therefore suggest you get your retractions and apologies to AfriForum over with.
