Quick reminder that 24-year-old Igor Thiago is the FIRST Brazilian player in Premier League history to score more than 15 goals in a single season. This kid is something special 🇧🇷

Trent Alexander-Arnold: "Nice to get one over on #ManCity, they've snatched a lot of Premier League medals away from me and Liverpool! It's amazing to be back, always enjoyed playing here [at the Etihad], always felt like they're biggest games - @ManCity always are a top, top club..." [via @primevideosport] #UCL

Not been a great night for Man City, but Khusanov has been outstanding. Looked lost when he arrived last season, but has improved so much

@Kristofferqt @CityFandk Her sidder jeres formand i egenskab af repræsentant for UAE.

🚨🗣️ 𝗡𝗘𝗪: José Luis Chilavert (Paraguayan football legend) attacks both Mbappe and Vinicius Jr: "I stand in solidarity with Prestianni. Mbappé talks about values… But what can he talk about? He lives with a transvestite." "That's NOT normal. It's not normal to live with a transvestite. That's what women are for." "And why are they going to sanction Prestianni?! If they do, they're giving grounds for the gay community to be the example to follow. No… That’s wrong." "In football, men play… In the past, we called each other with every insult. Ever since they put in the microphones and videos, football has become ‘gay’."

@TouchlineX Yes, I’m sure Citys £5,000 an hour legal team have based their defense entirely on the theory that the PL wouldn’t dare punish them even if guilty 👍🏻

🚨💣 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄: Manchester City insiders privately believe that the "115 Charges" verdict has been delayed due to potential consequences costing the Premier League £2.5bn instantly. The theory is that City holds a "kill switch": 1. If City gets kicked out, stars like Haaland and Guardiola leave. 2. Without them, TV channels allegedly have the right to cancel their contracts. 3. This would instantly cost the Premier League £2.5 billion.

Pierluigi Collina, President of the FIFA Referees Committee, has proposed changing the way penalties are taken during regular time: “I think there’s an excessive gap between the opportunities for the shooter and the goalkeeper. On average, 75% of penalties end in goals. Plus, there’s the chance of a rebound off the goalkeeper. One solution is the ‘ONE SHOT’ rule, similar to what we see in penalty shootouts after extra time. No rebounds. Either you score, or the game resumes with a goal kick. This would also eliminate the spectacle we often see before a penalty is taken, with everyone crowding around the area. It looks like horses at the starting gate before a race.”

@9320pod More than an odd bump. We need to question the complexity of his tactics. Players out and the system falls apart completely. Players OOP to make it ‘work’. Too reliant on DM. Fragile mentality. Last season this rot hit us in the fall. Now it’s hit us after new year.

The Pep chat needs to be 🚮 A year ago everyone wanted the whole squad sold. Now, people aren't prepared to accept that with a massive amount of churn there may be the odd bump in the road.

@pulpy Of course you can question the tactics. Second season in a row that injuries make us fall completely apart and hit a brick wall. And we have a much better squad this year. System is too complicated do deal with injuries.

I will also say if you’re a genuine Pep out kinda fan then you need giving a thick lip. It’s ok to ask questions of the drop in quality, but to turn on the manager because we have hit some bad form amidst a massive injury crisis, behave.

Guardiola says many things going against City at the moment — largely injuries but things like Rodri red just after Cherki's goal: "It’s a little bit soft the second one, but it is what it is. In the moment, 3-1, and after one minute (you get a red card), everything is a little bit against (us), for many many things, especially when we started New Year’s in Sunderland when we missed what we missed and after we had injuries and injuries and Matheus with flu cannot be here, so there are many many things are against (us) and in that level, the Champions League and against United, the top level, always it is a little more difficult to have the consistency that we had for one or two months."
